Even great chefs, who learn everything they can about food, rarely have any experience gathering their ingredients from the wild.

I’m Jed Conklin and I’ve been hunting and fishing since I was a kid.

In this series I’m taking chefs who’ve never used a rod or a gun out on the water and into the woods to teach them what it takes to put meat on the table.

Then these cooks are going to turn our wild game into meals for us to share and celebrate.

Our show Field to Feast launched yesterday. Man it feels good to get this project out into the public. It’s been a long road to get here and a bunch of great people came together to make it all happen. You can watch the film by clicking the link in the bio.

Chef Chad White @chefchadwhite put in a lot of work. He took a hunter safety course, put the hours in at the range, jumped fully out of his comfort zone, drove across the country, learned to climb a tree and sit damn still for a long time and cooked his heart out. I couldn’t be prouder of him. Way to go ol’ sport.

@revolentertainment crushed the film. Clint Easley (field producer and camera op) @clint_easley, Evan Pollock (camera op) @pollockpictures, Alex Howard (camera op) @howardalex17, worked tirelessly at the farm capturing the beautiful, storytelling video and Kyle Martin (lead editor) @film.by_kyle and Nic Ulmer (assistant editor) @nuvisionfilm put their skills to work editing this film.

They all busted their asses off making the best film we could and I truly appreciate the effort!

And we absolutely could not have created this film without the brands that supported it. When I pitched these folks all I had was an idea and a dream but they believed in us enough to put in their product and cash so we could make it a reality. My daughter Maeve and her first turkey. In fact this is her first harvest. This is not her first hunt nor will it be her last. Take your kids hunting and fishing. Let them get cold and tired. Let the be loud, get dirty, watch the sun rise and be in awe of it all. We camped with four other dads and their kids and I promise you none of them will ever forget those few days. It also happened to be over Maeve”s 9th birthday. Happy Birthday my love. Forever grateful.

Thank you to all the great dads in our group for putting this together and a big hug to the moms for keeping us organized and loaded with food. And a big shout out to @cvaofficial and @vortexoptics for helping me put together that sweet little .410 turkey thumper. What a great setup. by @jedconklin
