Building, painting and gaming. Grim & mucky paint style. I like working with plastic kits but I do have a love for metal miniatures.

Big Tree Daemon! All metal and a pain to build! Lots of pinning! I think this along with the dryads was my first adventure in using traditional basing materials on the models to create textures and variety.

The Mordheim Elf Mage. One of the releases from the specialist games department. There was a whole article on using the mage in Fanatic Magazine.

I used him as a level 4 mage in my Wood Elf army.

Although this one is now sold I do have another one in my collection.

Branchwraith Drycha,

This was painted in Games Workshop Hemel Hempstead when I worked there. From memory I sat around the painting table with @i_call_chisel and @lessthanscaryknight

Good times.

Dryads! Always loved the idea of tree daemons! Such a great kit for its time. Painted loads of these since their release. I think they still hold up well compared to modern plastics.

Back to nostalgia!

I recently sold my Wood Elf army and thought I’d share some pictures of my favorite models from the collection.

This is the limited edition battle standard bearer from the 2005 army set. I remember painting this when I worked for Games Workshop. The army sets always created hype!

I little break from nostalgia. I painted another Ork!

I’ve never been able to really put my finger on why I’ve slowly fallen out of love with army size 40K games. Until now….

Why did they stop bows being allowed in ork armies!!! Gorkamorka, Rogue Trader and 2nd edition allowed it…

Wight King on Chariot. This was one of the unique units from The Lichemaster army list that featured in White Dwarf. I had to include one. The chariot was made from a Tomb King chariot and gravestones from the old old plastic skeleton sprue. I seem to remember that army list included a magic item that made the chariot fly which was fun!!

Undead living statues. A literal bitz box dive unit. Complety random models to create the unit. These did see some action as spirit hosts as well.

I’m feeling rather nostalgic after watching the superb YouTube series on the original White Dwarf Tale of Four Gamers article by @timelesstabletopgaming

I’ve recently sold a couple of my older Warhammer Armies and thought I’d share some more pictures of my favourites from the collection.

Painting Fantasy armies around 5th and 6th edition was pretty much all I did! Maybe I’ll paint another Warhammer Fantasy army one day!

Thanks for looking…
