2nd Overall @ironman70.3desarucoast 🥈

Not good enough to defend my title this year but absolutely loved being back in Desaru ☀️ 🏝️

The support during race week and energy out on course made the weekend feel even more special. Thank you @ironman70.3desarucoast for another awesome event, looking forward to a bigger and better event next year.

It’s been 3 races now in my custom suit from @bikesociety

Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about it. Despite racing in darker colours, even in the heat and humidity of Asia, I’ve been able to regulate my core temperature thanks to the lightweight, breathable fabric.

It’s been super easy working with chief design engineer Craig to develop the most optimal race kit. I couldn’t recommend them more for anything custom apparel related. 🙌🏽 by @jedradbone

It’s definitely not a secret that I’m excited! Back into routine and trying to find some more fitness before toeing the line at one of my favourite 70.3 races! 🙌🏽

South Korea Ironman 70.3 🇰🇷 🥇

Race week was anything but perfect and honestly could have derailed the race but thankfully managed to cross that line in first place. My pin legs were not ready for the amount of climbing on the run course so I was pretty happy to hold off the the boys coming from behind 😅

Well done to everyone else on course and massive thanks to the ones that helped me get there, you know who you are 🫶🏽

The one race that absolutely needs to be on your calendar is getting closer — IRONMAN 70.3 Desaru Coast 🏝️🔥 @ironman70.3desarucoast

It’s always nice to dust off the cobwebs in those first few races of the season, but this year I’m looking forward to heading into IRONMAN 70.3 Desaru Coast with a much more structured build and clearer plan.

One big training tip: prepare yourself for a HOT swim. Last year the ocean temperature was around 28°C, while the outside air temperature was only about 27°C… meaning the water actually felt hotter than being out of it 🥵

That changes the feel of the race more than people expect. You can start overheating before you even get onto the bike, especially if you’re not used to warm water swimming. It’s worth incorporating some heat exposure into training, practising staying relaxed when your heart rate climbs, and being extra mindful of hydration and cooling before the start. 💧

Fourth by 1 F**king second 😂

A lot to unpack in this race but 1 second over a 4hr race HAHAHA that ain’t it! To be fair, I was having a bit of an off day, so I probably didn’t deserve the podium spot. Well done to the boys up front and everyone else, great racing.

Big shout out to @bikesociety for a very tidy, fast and comfortable race suit 💨
