Two vehicles, one platform, and a perfect reminder that personalization changes everything. On one side is the clean, factory inspired approach. Stock ride height, road focused tires, and a simple setup that stays true to its original design. It has a timeless look that works anywhere without trying too hard.

On the other side is a build that completely transforms its presence. The aggressive lift, massive mud tires, wider stance, off road lights, heavy duty bumper, winch, and open-top configuration turn it into something impossible to ignore. Every modification gives it a more capable, purpose built appearance, making it look ready to tackle terrain far beyond the pavement.

At first glance, it almost looks like gravity stopped working.

The camera angle makes this climb appear nearly vertical, but make no mistake this is still an incredibly steep obstacle that demands skill, precision, and complete trust in the vehicle.

Rock crawling isn’t about speed. It’s about traction, throttle control, and carefully choosing the right line to keep all four tires working together. With the right setup and enough grip, obstacles that seem impossible suddenly become climbable.

This custom Willys Wagon project, known as “Duke,” has entered the exterior body design phase after extensive modifications to the original body structure.

The build includes sheet metal work, added length in three separate areas, additional mass in the D-pillar section, a 4.5-inch roof chop, a 5-inch drop in the A-pillar section, a taller windshield opening, and a stretched hood.

According to the designer, the render is based on a direct scan of the real vehicle body and chassis, meaning the proportions shown reflect the actual dimensions of the project rather than an exaggerated digital concept.

The next stage of development will focus on exterior components including the running boards, side exhaust, front and rear fenders, rear hatch, hood, roof ducting, and other design details.

Once the design is finalized, the model will be used to help develop the body panels, which are planned to be constructed from carbon fiber.
