Found a little bit of Yellowstone life in NC the other day!!

Did you know, when storms roll across the plains, most animals instinctively run away from them. Cattle often try to outrun the storm, but because the storm is moving in the same direction, they end up staying in it longer.

Buffalo, however, have been observed doing something different. Rather than running away, they turn toward the storm and walk directly into it. By facing the storm head-on, they pass through it more quickly than if they had tried to flee.

Whether every detail of this story is scientifically true or not, it paints a powerful picture of the Christian life. God never promised that we would avoid storms. He promised to be with us in the middle of them. Faith isn’t pretending the storm doesn’t exist, it’s trusting God enough to keep moving forward, knowing He is greater than what stands in front of us.

As believers, we’re called to face life’s trials with courage, confidence, and hope. When we lean on Christ instead of running from hardship, we discover that He is our strength, our refuge, and our peace. The storm may still rage, but it will not have the final word. God walks with His people through every trial, and on the other side, our faith is stronger because of His faithfulness.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

Everything breaks down.

Engines fail. Axles snap. Parts wear out. Even the strongest-built rigs eventually need repairs.

The same is true for us. Life leaves us worn down by sin, failure, pain, and disappointment. No amount of self-improvement can fix what’s broken inside.

But the good news is that Jesus doesn’t just patch us up, He makes us new.

Through His death, burial, and resurrection, we can be forgiven, restored, and reconciled to God. In Christ, we are no longer defined by our brokenness but by His grace.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

No matter how broken you feel today, Jesus is in the business of making all things new.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

There are places on this earth that bring us a sense of peace a quiet mountain trail, a calm lake, an early morning sunrise, or the stillness of the woods. Those moments are gifts from God, but they are only temporary.

True peace isn’t found in a place. It isn’t found in a vacation, a hobby, or even in nature itself.

True peace is found in Jesus Christ.

Because of His death on the cross for our sins, His burial, and His resurrection, we can have peace with God that no circumstance can take away. The world offers temporary calm, but Christ offers eternal peace.

So wherever you find yourself today, take a moment to be still, not just to enjoy the beauty around you, but to remember the One who created it all.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives.” John 14:27

Don’t board the long black train.

Every day we’re faced with choices. The “long black train” isn’t just a song, it’s a picture of the temptations that try to pull us away from God’s purpose. Sin always promises something better, but it only leads to destruction. Jesus offers a different path, one filled with grace, freedom, and eternal hope.

Stand firm. Trust Christ. Don’t let the enemy convince you to climb aboard.
