Hit the patch with the littles last week. We had a blast. Forever amazed at how photogenic they are. Happy fall, y’all by @jeff.aleman
I haven’t posted about gear in a very long time. Over the last couple years I’ve gone through a lot of gain and loss when it comes to music. I didn’t think I’d get the chance to build back up for a long time. Then, by grace, I’ve been gifted the chance to again. And I am incredibly grateful. A Fender American Strat handed down with love from my dad, and the ability to finally get to afford a @neuraldsp Quad Cortex after years of waiting. I already feel inspired again. Let’s make some music. #pedalboard #quadcortex by @jeff.aleman
Don’t know much, don’t have much. But I know that being their dad is everything. I love them with everything in me. And I know they love me back. The only goal is always to be better. To keep going. For them. To my dad, to my brothers and cousins, to my friends, to every dad who has been an influence on my life and to all the dads that try and don’t give up, here’s to you. Here’s to us. You are loved. You are seen. happy #FathersDay. by @jeff.aleman
Too many beautiful moments have happened in the last couple years. More than I can share. There’s been a lot of loss in all of it too. I’ve learned that I’ll never be ready for everything. Maybe not even adequate for all of it. I don’t think I want to be. Even in the loss there is still love. Care. The fleeting touch of a hand or heart. A hope that all will be well, in time. Life never stops moving. But maybe it’s okay to slow down and feel everything, too. The good Lord made us that way, after all. These pretty moments don’t do much to cover what has been a very rough few months. Much of which has been very difficult to move forward from. Still, they represent the effort to be present and keep going anyway. For them. For what is still to come. Even then, the small I love you’s here and there mean more than anyone will know. Listen for those. Keep them close. It makes the journey just a little less lonely. I used to dream of being famous. Now I dream of just being okay. In it all, I’m still me. I’m still dad. And for now, that’ll have to be enough. This is my “life lately”. Uncertain. Infuriating. Questioned. Hopeful. Thankful. by @jeff.aleman
Little Iris turned 5 yesterday, and it's been a week of surprises, gifts and great memories. Every fleeting moment of her wanting to be carried, dragged across the apartment on a pillow making car noises, taken to the park to ride skateboards and scooters, taken for ice cream and airplane watching, or repeating the same movie over and over, I want to be there for all of it. She is growing into her own unique and powerful personality with every bit of energy and desire for fun and to express herself. She's been on a massive KPDH kick and I've loved every minute of singing their songs with her. Even if repeatedly. I hope to keep growing to be the dad she and Sam need in every phase of their lives. Lord knows I need them too. Happy 5th birthday, Iris. I love you so very much. by @jeff.aleman
Ice cream and plane watching from the trunk. Maybe owning an SUV isn't so bad by @jeff.aleman
A powerful, beautiful flow moment I got to lead from guitar with this incredible team some months back. Nothing is more amazing than experiencing a blessing like this with everyone in the room. This will forever be a favorite memory of mine from my time at OCC. @overcomer.music , I love you guys. Keep doing incredible things. #guitar #worship by @jeff.aleman

Been years since the last one of these. So hey. by @jeff.aleman
It’s okay to start over. I’ve had quite a few of these over the years. I miss every single one of them. I’ve realized my affinity with floral things, especially cherry blossoms, might be tied to the fact that I know life is fleeting. But the beauty of it is timeless. This past year+ has been tough, sometimes confusing, formative, sometimes painful, but altogether beautiful. I’ve had beautiful moments with beautiful people I’ll never forget. I’ve dealt with losses I’ve learned many lessons from. I’ve laughed until my stomach cramped. I’ve cried until my pillows were soaked. Literally. I’ve prayed until the only words left were “I don’t know anymore. But You do.” I’ve learned to be a better father, friend, and am slowly learning to be more kind to myself. Music has forever been my main passion outlet. I’ve gone through so many instruments and so much gear. These two beautiful examples are really all I have left. But I couldn’t be more happy with them and the beauty I’m grateful to be able to create with them. I’ve learned it’s okay to start over, and to be okay with the little I have. I don’t post much about my life, if at all. Just know I’m still kicking. Still showing up for my beautiful kids. Still working at something. Still waiting on something beautiful. Whatever that looks like. If you’ve read this far, thanks. I love you. Here’s to whatever the hell comes next. #guitar #fall #waiting #fyp by @jeff.aleman
