Yes, that’s an Opossum in the snow, in daylight! - I’d completely forgotton to post this pic I shot last winter during an afternoon drive with my dad in rural northern Indiana. I happened to glance over and see this Opossum walking along the open edge of a plowed corn field, in broad daylight. Thankfully I had my camera with me, jumped out, sprawled out prone in the snow and snapped a few pics of this pretty cute and usually very nocturnal critter. Not exactly an exotic species, but definitely an unusual and really cool encounter!

Watching this moose calf get the zoomies during it’s first rain shower was so funny and amazing! I’ve seen baby elk, deer and cattle do it to, but when they stick their tongues out and smile from ear to ear, it’s obvious they’re having the time of their young lives.

After the series of graphic Elephant Seal mating photos I posted recently, I’m happy to report their postcoital ritual is much more “upbeat” so to speak. He sings cheery Irish drinking songs 🎵🍻🎶 while she bobs her head along with the melodies. Nature is full of surprises! 🤷🏻

A fiery & snowy sunrise in the Alabama Hills, CA. - During the golden sunrise hour in the Alabama Hills region, the hills themselves stay in shadow while the towering wall of peaks of the Sierra Nevada behind them are bathed in a dramatic glow. Seeing this from my elevated perch, after a beautiful snow storm was something I’ll never forget.
