Congrats to the new OMBAC Men’s Open Champions @jacelcajon Klownin Beating the back-to-back defending champs @valleyfarmmarkets is no small feat—what a battle.

Also, loved seeing “The Hat” make an appearance. For those who don’t know, the hat in a triangle signals a player has two outs in an inning and is battling to avoid the third. It’s been a Crown Point OTL tradition (and many others) for decades, getting the crowd into the game. Cool to see it embraced on the OMBAC championship stage.

Stuff like this brings another level of fun back to the game. It gets everyone involved, builds the energy, and reminds us why we all fell in love with OTL in the first place.

Camitt Division Champs at OMBAC OTL. 🏆
Team name - We Camitt to buying more @racerbrothersjerky

This one hit a little different.

For the first time ever, I got to share the field with my youngest brother, Scott. Anyone who knows us knows he’s the real athlete in the family. Getting to compete alongside him—and come away with a championship—is a memory I’ll always cherish.

I also got to team up with my longtime friend RC, better known as “Squirrel” in the OTL world. We’ve been friends for more than 20 years because of this amazing game. At one point, RC, Beth, and I were even roommates. We’ve logged countless pickup games at Crown Point, Mariners, and South Mission over the years, but had never played OMBAC together until now.

To be honest… we weren’t exactly putting on a hitting clinic. 😂 We had moments where we looked like we had never swung a bat before. But we stayed scrappy, kept grinding, made the plays when we had to, and somehow found a way to get it done. Sometimes heart and refusing to quit are enough.

That’s what makes this game so special. The trophy is awesome, but it’s the people, the friendships, the stories, and weekends like this that keep bringing us back year after year.

Huge mahalo to @ombacsd and everyone who volunteers to make this tournament happen. This community has given me friendships that have lasted decades, and I’m incredibly grateful I got to share this championship with my brother and one of my oldest and best friends.

I’ll never forget this one.

Now let’s do it all again next weekend. I’m looking forward to more OTL, seeing everyone back out there, and watching all the young studs battle it out in the Open. Those guys are ridiculously talented, and it’s going to be fun to sit back, cheer them on, and watch them put on a show.

First sprint triathlon done! Had an incredible time with my brothers in San Diego. Thanks to @soomamathree3, Richard, @ocean_allison @cassa__dilla, & my sweet nieces for coming down to cheer us on!

440 yard swim, 10mile bike, 5k run. 566 total participants

Some people just show up.

The flooding on the North Shore has been brutal. Families lost homes, cars, everything. Farmers went days without power. Clean drinking water became a real concern.

But watching this community take care of each other — neighbors helping neighbors, strangers showing up with food, supplies, and muscle — has been something else entirely.

Then our phone rang.

Mrs. Calosso has been coming to these islands for decades. Over the years she went from being a client to being family. She reached out to check on us — and before we could finish telling her what was happening, she was already asking how she could help.

Because of her, Beth and I were able to get two generators and fuel out to local farmers who needed it most, and get a clean water filter installed in our home.

It’s that simple. And that rare.

Mrs. Calosso — mahalo nui loa. We are grateful for you. 🌺
