Love you bud, miss you bud, Happy Birthday!!! Drexel Dog woulda been 15 today. It’s been more than 4 months since we said goodbye but today may have been the hardest day yet. Going through hundreds of photos I haven’t had the strength to look at. Some made me smile, lots of em made me laugh, but the videos all just break me. Just hearing his voice. 😓 Drexel wasn’t a loud dog but he was VERY vocal. I put together some of his best chatter for you all to listen to so you can remember him through sound not just sight. 2nd to last video is my favorite trick he ever mastered. Rolling down his own window. After getting permission. Last video is me doing the talking to him. 💙 love ya bud. Ps. Sorry for the late post. Puppy pictures and you all can probably guess why 😓 It’s time to lay my best friend to rest. Hope it’s the hardest decision I’ll ever make because I can’t fathom my heart hurting anymore than it is now 💔. They’ll be plenty more photos to come. Focused on quality time, trying hard and keep a smile on my face for my guy but that’s proved to be impossible at times. We’re hitting the road to Park City tomorrow to put the old man to rest where he grew up. This way he has the chance to say goodbye to all those who loved him and who helped raise him. Drexel had a special place is so many hearts but @cayleyr and @daze_777 are at the top of that list. They were the best mommas a dog could ever ask for. Please send condolences their way as they’re struggling just as much as I am during this week of remembrance. ❤️ by @jeff_easter

Drexel dog returns home for the holidays! Made me so happy to have him back surrounded by so many people he knows and loves from his early days here. And back into the snow!! Which he still obviously can’t get enough of. Although he can’t bound and frolic through the snow like he used to he still just can’t get enough. May not be the same, but it’s still awesome. Oahu/Maui. May 2024. Seems like just yesterday I was gimping around Waikiki, jealous of the surfing, jealous of the work I couldn’t do, but at the same time grateful for the company and community that is adaptive surfing and the huge hearts these folks possess. These people continually lift my spirits and this time was no exemption. Grateful for you all. 🙏 Fast forward to today. Mid September and I’m back to enjoying all the activities I love. Not back to full strength yet (left calf still needs a lot of work) but I’m confident that time isn’t too far off. Off to Tofino to celebrate @tyturner14 and @fromsnowtosail ‘s love for one another. Surprise ending if you’re patient 🫣 Reminiscing! As I sit here, sorting through a seasons worth of photos while healing from injury, I’m reminded of how incredible the season was and how fortunate I am to have spent my 7th winter in Japan. I met with my orthopedic surgeon today. Got a good grade and some good news - cleared to bare weight on the injured leg and I’m off the crutches unless I’m going a decent distance. I’m pretty darn proficient on those things thanks to watching my man @dmd_09_ get around. I adopted your signature hop in between my steps. Thanks for the coaching cuz!! 🙏 Still a long way to go before I’m cleared for any kind of activity but having my mobility back is a blessing. Every push/roll in a wheelchair and every slow painful step/lunge on crutches during my recoveries reminds me of many good friends of mine. Friends who have to deal with decreased mobility and accessibility EVERYDAY. Each time I break myself I feel as though I owe them and the adaptive community that much more. If you don’t follow and don’t donate to the @hi5sfoundation PLEASE do. Especially if you continually roll the dice while recreating as I do. The foundation has raffles/ giveaways and hosts all sorts of fundraisers if you need incentive to give more $. The Mothership Classic is on March 22nd @ KT-22 at Palisades. Look it up if you’re within striking distance. Raise some money and ski some retro gear 🤘 🕺🏻 Last day to sign up is March 18!! 🫵 Some comment and say how unlucky I am to be going through another ski injury. Which is justifiable.. but I’m trying to see it in a different light. Trying to feel fortune to have only tore my achilles and fractured my femur this year and nothing worse. Nothing permanent. I’ll be back. Stronger than before and with twice the stoke. Let’s fucking go!
