Social media is making us (more) crazy. X, Instagram, and Facebook are not real life. They amplify the most extreme voices and quiet the most rational. Something about this has to change.

Right now, anyone with any level of scientific literacy should be scared. We all need to be yelling at the top of our lungs about how delusional and dangerous this man is. In one breath, he says he values “gold standard” science, and in another, he says he can determine the mitochondrial function and inflammation of a child by looking at them. by @jeff_mft

I try not to be too political on this account, but someone please explain to me how this type of behavior and language is acceptable on a government website? Name calling? Doubling down on misinformation? What is happening to us that this has become not only acceptable but even respected? by @jeff_mft

How someone responds to you setting limits says a lot about how the lack of those limits impacted them. After lots of procrastination, editing, re-recording, mastering, and other tedious stuff, the audiobook was finally uploaded to ACX today. Religious trauma is real and needs to be discussed more, but let's acknowledge that ANY rigid, dogmatic belief system can cause psychological harm.

Rigid belief systems tend to use fear and shame as tools to restrict thought. Regardless of the context, this can cause lasting trauma.
