Here’s another demo from the record. It’s called River. I hope you enjoy it. I really look forward to playing for you again. It’s so much fun to play and honestly, it brings back so many memories of some of the best shows I’ve ever seen where the music literally, envelope to you in a sea of noiseand melody. taken in Everett, Wa, USA by @jeffbpa

Good afternoon everyone! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for following our journey. I’m incredibly excited to share with you the new record this fall—something I’ve poured my soul into, and I hope it touches you as deeply as it has moved me to create it. Our release date is set to coincide with the Seagaze performance, and I can’t wait to experience that moment with all of you.

Most of the time, Blackpool Astronomy is just me alone in my home studio, lost in the music, dreaming aloud. But when we hit the stage live, I have the privilege of enlisting the extraordinary talents of Thane Mitchell and someone I’ll simply call Joshua—each of them brings such magic to our performances. Our last set at Seagaze was a beautiful moment, received warmly, and I truly believe this year will be even more powerful—especially now that we’ve had a bit more time to perfect what we do. What many don’t know is that most of our last performance was pulled together on short notice, fueled by passion and pure love for the music.

And let me tell you, this record is evolving into something truly special. The mixing process is bringing it to life in a way that I hope will take you on a rollercoaster of euphoria and nostalgia. So much of what I’ve learned stems from the 90s—those incredible days filled with awe-inspiring performances I was privileged to witness. Just recently, I saw Chapterhouse perform, and it was nothing short of spectacular. They might not be everyone’s go-to for shoegaze, but for me, they are a cornerstone.

I cannot wait for all of you to hear this new album. To give you a taste of the journey, I’ve prepared a couple of videos showcasing the evolution of these songs. And if you join my Substack, you’ll get exclusive early access to demo tracks, along with updates and stories about the making of this record—things you won’t find anywhere else. Thank you for being part of this adventure; your support fuels my passion and inspires me every single day. taken in Downtown, Everett by @jeffbpa

At the Seagaze Festival, our hearts overflow with love for the bands that have grown alongside us, that have become the soundtrack of our lives—especially Darkswoon. Their new song, Antivemom, isn’t just music; it’s a vital, soul-shaking experience you cannot afford to miss. This song reaches deep into the core of what it means to grow up as trans, to face the battles that often go unheard and unseen. It’s about Nex Benedict—a shining light lost far too soon—and I promise, by the time it’s over, you’ll feel the raw, unfiltered emotion etched into every note, every lyric. It turns a horrific reality—something too often brushed under the rug—into an undeniable force that demands our attention. The chorus will echo in your mind, haunting yet beautiful, so you’ll find yourself singing it in your sleep, because Nex *should* still be here. This song is more than sound; it’s a powerful call to remember, to fight, and to never forget the voices we have lost. by @jeffbpa

Tonight, I will be DJing at ApolloExos in beautiful downtown Everett. I’ll bring a great dark mix with a punk edge and some noisy sidelines. I hope you can make it. There’s no cover charge, and it’s 21 and over only. I handpicked the vinyl myself. Go back in time with us to the beginnings of the dark era and enjoy memories of the clubs we all loved before 88 with a few new local cuts to keep it familiar taken in Apollo Exos Records by @jeffbpa

Seagaze Festival brought so much joy and community this year, but it’s facing tough times. Let’s come together to help make sure it can return next year. Every bit helps! Please share and donate if you can.
