What. A. Day. for the Jefferson High School Marching Band! 🎶

Today, the Jefferson Band competed at the Georgia Marching Band Coalition Regional at East Jackson Comprehensive High School in Commerce.

In prelims, the Dragons swept Class A, earning 1st Place in Music, Visual, General Effect, Color Guard, Percussion, and Overall Best in Class!

Then, in finals, Jefferson competed against bands from all classes and finished 2nd overall in an incredible field of talented programs!

A little lightning was no match for these Lady Dragons—turns out the real electric energy was on the turf field tonight! ⚡️🏈 The Powderpuff Championship game went down tonight, and the JUNIORS took the crown in an absolute nail-biter! Between the wild turnovers and high stakes, it was non-stop excitement. So proud of our girls!

Huge thank you to all the players, coaches, fans, and everyone who stopped by the concession stand—all proceeds supported Miracle Club and CHOA! Of course, Mrs. Parks Kindig & Mrs. Veldhuis deserve a huge THANK YOU for putting it together, and this would not have been the AMAZING event it was without the colorful commentary of our very own Bearded Broadcaster, Coach White.

Will the Juniors hold onto the trophy when they're Seniors next year, or will someone step up to challenge the champs? See you next fall when we find out! 🏆✨

Last Monday’s hanging with Hardy was a success! 💙❤️ Thank you to all of the parents who joined us last week for an evening of important information, conversation, and connection.

From dual enrollment opportunities and parent communication to student expectations and an open Q&A with our principal, it was a great opportunity to learn more about what’s ahead for the year and ask questions.

On Friday morning, JHS students, faculty, and staff gathered in the Arena for a somber ceremony honoring the lives lost and the heroes who answered the call on September 11, 2001. Community veterans and school board members joined us as honored guests as well.

Lonnie Jackson eloquently shared a moving reflection on the events of that day and the heroes we continue to remember. Caleb Leslie played Taps in honor of those who lost their lives.

JROTC stood at attention for the duration of the ceremony, and members of JROTC presented the colors as a student trumpet quartet played the National Anthem.

A piece of structural steel from one of the towers was also on display for those who wished to see it, serving as a tangible reminder of the tragedy, the resilience of our nation, and the extraordinary strength and sacrifice of our first responders.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

🌧️⚡️ The weather tried to steal Homecoming from us… but the Dragons had other plans! ❤️💙

A lightning delay kept the gates closed for a while and pushed back kickoff (and the rain stuck around through the first half)—but just in time for the moment we’d all been waiting for, the skies cleared. ✨

At halftime, our six amazing Homecoming Court girls were recognized alongside their escorts, and then came the big announcement: Macy Copponex was named Queen 👸🏻 (congrats Macy!!- we posted her crowning photos separately).

And as if the night couldn’t get any better, the Dragons dominated the game with a 30–0 victory over Maynard Jackson! 🏈🔥

Friday’s pep rally brought all the Dragon spirit! ❤️💙

From our traditional court handshakes and recognition of our fall sports to the much-anticipated Spirit Stick, it was a celebration of everything that makes Jefferson special. And this year, the Spirit Stick went to our Seniors! 🎉🏆

The senior class showed up in true patriotic style, decked out in red, white, and blue—with a few taking it extra far and bringing the Founding Fathers back to life! 🇺🇸😂
