So I've been sitting on this for a hot minute 😎 Lots of dreaming about any of these three projects happening for quite some time now, but holy crap, all three? LET'S GOOOOOO 🔪🩸

FYC, Day 13.
.
Hi friends. Today voting begins at @theacademy . I'm having all sorts of feelings, understandably. I've been dreaming of this since I was 5 & chasing that dream - in various incarnations - ever since. For most of my life the dream was to be nominated for Best Actor, & yet over the last few years all I've wanted is to tell a story that makes it to nomination day, not just something entertaining but words & characters that move people, maybe make them laugh or shed a tear or two.... But most importantly, feel seen. And maybe feel a little less lonely in the world.
.
There's so much about my journey that has changed over the years, and it's certainly met its share of hopelessness and despair. (Otherwise known as a "Monday" or a "Thursday" or a "___day" in Hollywood, oof.) And then on rare occasions, something magical happens, & I get to feel wildly hopeful.
.
Ironically, it's the story about a deeply lonely man who just wants a friend that has restored my hope both in this town, but also people.
.
So while today I might be terribly nervous and anxious and desperate to feel seen by these good humans on the nominating committee, I'm also incredibly grateful for the people this little tale has brought into my life, whether a brief but pure encounter after a performance or screening (usually it's someone who wants to tell me about their best friend, which is just the loveliest thing I can think of ☺️), or an excited email from a student who stumbled upon/worked on it in class, or a thoughtful soul who saw it at a festival & wanted to let me know they get how profound that loneliness can feel &, by extension, they get me too💙
.
And, gosh, I've been sent so much love, y'all🙏
.
If you could, I'd appreciate all the likes & shares you can muster today. Since many of my FB peeps are in LA and NYC, the chance that keeping this post afloat on the old timeline might reach that very important group of 👀 warrants a teeny tiny plea on my part.
.
Thank you, good humans of the internet, for being part of The Forgotten Place journey, and my own journey.
.
It's been mythical, magical, and mystical ♥️ by @jefflocker

As news about the Warner Bros/Paramount merger ripples throughout Hollywood, there are legitimate fears about what that means for the industry going forward. Los Angeles Mayor @karenbassla talks about her efforts to keep production in our city, and what more needs to be done.

What's going on with the Paramount/WBD merger?? Thrilled and honored to be invited to sit with Los Angeles Mayor @karenbassla for this exclusive interview to discuss the latest developments.

This is Part 1 of a chat where we cover everything from a struggling Hollywood, the housing crisis, and the election, to Spencer Pratt and what keeps Mayor Bass up at night.

We'll, sometimes life comes at you hard. And if you're lucky, it finds a way to do you a solid when you most need it. After losing my second actor in this piece last night on the first night of the @briskfestival finals (!!), I'm both terribly relieved and super excited to say the universe has brought me the MAGICAL @nicolas.arturo1 , who just stepped into the role of Toby at about as last minute as it gets! This man is such a beautiful soul, and he's going to knock your emotional socks off tonight 🤩

Come see us, yeah? Support LA theater, support local artists 🎭 Tickets in bio. taken in Morgan-Wixson Theater by @jefflocker

“Whenever one person stands up and says, ‘Wait a minute, this is wrong,’ it helps other people do the same.” - Gloria Steinem

Proud I get to stand up with my fellow @1acommittee friends along with @freepressaction in this fight to #BlockTheMerger .

We continue to fight out here while our Attorneys General fight over there. And when we fight, we win. 🫡✊😏

They said it couldn’t be done. They said it was a done deal. But we did it, the AGs sued, and the merger is paused, waiting for trial.

Last night, we hosted a party to celebrate the power we’ve built, to be in community and to gear up for the next fight!

Because there's still work to do.

Join us in telling the states AGs we've got their back. Let's take the suit to trial! #NoConcessions #BlocktheMerger #KindaChic taken in Los Angeles, California by @jefflocker
