Got a chance to attend the @viffest premiere of @david_ehrenreich new film “Relax Open Your Eyes” tonight. I’d love to just say a special thanks to Dave for having me be apart of the composing team along with our dear captain @edovanb alongside the immensely talented @_bojm_ , Sam Davidson and @aidenxayers

Go check it out while you can while it’s still in theatres here at VIFF, it’s worth it. Everyone did such a great job on this one. Congrats all 💜

i’m not sure what i did in a past life that the universe would gift this so sweetly. i owe everything i am to the people around me, who poured ENDLESS hours into this dream that i’ve had since i was a tiny girl. today, she fervently celebrates you 🫶🏼
i could never repay what i’ve been given, but only shower with gratitude for the selflessness & belief lent to me. especially to the two men, who let me

This winter was spent going deep into @backroomsmovie co-composing the score with creative behemoth and truly wonderful human @kanepixels

Learned so much working on cues for these netherworlds and couldn’t be happier with the resulting music we made for this legendary film. Feel very lucky to be part of the hard-working, humble, and supportive team of creatives and producers who brought this to the silver screen.

Could not have done it without the help of @jeffrey.innes who holds the studio down and contributed with incredible additional original compositions.

Huge shout outs to #samueldavidson and @aidenxayers for their recorded performances.

And massive respect to @eugeniobattaglia for his endless missions in mixing and getting the score to sound amazing in theatres and everywhere else. And also to our incredible music editor @swanson.music

We have a new record out today! (Congrats guys ✌️)

Made entirely by us at my studio, mixed by James over at his.

I’ve had the opportunity to speak at great length about the process of making this record, thanks to the wonderful work by Beth at @whatsthestoryca - but the jist is:
Me, @_jay_why_ @grahamvincentjones and @brandonwolfescott wanted to make a rock n roll record, just the four of us. Rehearsed, not produced. Played, not crafted, gridded and tuned. Just the band, playing some songs we wrote the best we could.

I’ve immensely enjoyed the process, and really hope you all dig it! You can listen to it on all the usual streaming platforms, or do us a solid and buy a physical copy on our site ( www.yukonblonde.com )

The track on this post, “That Girl”, features a wonderful performance by our dear friend @taylor.hickson

If you haven’t already heard, my band @yukonblonde released a new track “Colours of my Dreams”!
Over the past year, we’ve been writing songs on acoustic guitars and bringing them into the space to get fully fleshed out as a band, and it’s been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve felt in this band. I mean, I can’t overstate how much I’m enjoying playing in this band right now.

So go listen if you haven’t already- and you should problem listen again if you have!

I was ordering a beer in the lobby of the Queen E Theatre during @airfrenchband Moon Safari last October when I ran into my dear friend and work colleague @edovanb . After a brief catch up and chit chat, he leans in and says “I gotta tell you something crazy. I just got off the phone with @osgoodperkins and he asked if I wanted to compose the teaser for his new film The Monkey. Do you wanna help?”

Obviously, I agreed.

The very next night we pulled an all nighter to compose the music for the funniest and most disturbing piece of film I’ve had the pleasure of working on so far. We sent it in and the next thing you know, we got the call to do the entire film.

We spent the next 6 weeks burning the candle at both ends, composing the music for this bizarre and beautiful film. The more time we’d spend on a particular scene, the more the layers of terror of comedy would be revealed to me.

We couldn’t have finished it without the genius compositions of @johanneswinkler_composer , the incredible sound design of @eugeniobattaglia or the wonderful musicianship of @_bojm_ , @skimdavidson , @grahamvincentjones and @brandonwolfescott

It’s a great film, it’s out this Friday and you should absolutely go see it. by @jeffrey.innes

VANCOUVER! My band @yukonblonde is kicking off our West Coast run at the @hollywoodtheatrevan tonight with special guests @noble_son !

It’s not a last show or anything, so I would consider you all to be very strong, brave humans to leave your winter nests and endure the elements to spend the night with us. Les goooooo 🥳

Photos from yesterday 🌾

2023 was probably my least productive year in terms of photography. My output massively slowed during that pandemic and virtually came to a halt by the time last summer rolled around. I began recording much more, and needed to fund some new equipment, so I sold about 70% of my cameras and lenses.

As one might expect, once my options were reduced to my very favourite and essential cameras, I got inspired to shoot more. This December has easily been my most productive month for both shooting and developing in years.

I feel like I had forgotten the whole reason why I shoot and develop film- which to me, feels like a bridge to the immersion of oneself and their surroundings. When I have a camera around my neck, my phone is in my pocket. I notice the world around me, even if it’s not worth shooting, or it is just too beautiful to try and capture. I haven’t been using a light meter, so I’m always aware of what the sun and clouds are doing. Sometimes I totally forget that I’m even thinking about a possible picture because I’m so engrossed in the details around me.

All of this of course is old news, and cliche to some of you, but it’s important to me to express so that I remember that this is why take pictures; and that this instagram was began as a journal.

We all find peace and our therapy in unique ways, and this is mine.

The above was shot on my beloved #hasselblad500cm on @ilfordphoto #delta100 using the amazing Zeiss Planar 80mm F2.8 developed using Kodak D76, Ilford stop and fix.

Looking forward to exhausting these chemicals so I can return to colour film 🫠
