I absolutely enjoyed this Afro-diasporic story by @caleb_anelson. I particularly loved how the book captured the parents that impose their own career choices on their children, instead of supporting the children’s true passions, and the likely consequences of that.

Such a beautiful story that revolves around love, romance, family, friendship, race, passion, and grief.

My highlight of the book? That grief really does change us.
It’s so intriguing how Stephen’s father, Kojo, only begins to soften after the loss of his wife, Stephen’s mother.
Indeed, “Grief never ends, but we find a way to walk in the light someone has left behind, rather than living in pain’s shadow.”

A really good read. 🤩🤩

“What love left unfinished” is a beautiful love non-fiction of two knitted hearts - Esther and Tobi. The kind of story that gives you all the butterflies and you could awww away your breath.

I had an idea of what Esther’s story is about when I eagerly got the book, but nothing prepared me for the sudden heart wrenching plot twist.

Think of the most intriguing K-drama love story, then imagine it breaking your heart in the final act. Or that “Wait…. What?” moment from your favorite thriller where the ending leaves you staring speechlessly at the screen. That’s this book in a nutshell.

I can’t even begin to imagine the level of courage it took Esther to put down this masterpiece, but it does prove that the strongest people are not in the war zones-They are right behind the shadows of everyday life, stitching up their hearts in quiet resilience, showing up with grace and strength and somehow still managing to offer light to others.

“What Love left unfinished” will make you smile so wide your cheeks will hurt but then leaves you in tears.

It’s a masterpiece of love, romance, faith, family, friendship, grief, and hope.

🌺 Vulnerability is not weakness as many would think, but in fact, the opposite.

Vulnerability is the best way to deal with insecurity of any sort.

Having someone in your life you can be vulnerable with at any time is an underrated blessing.

I've lived most of my life as a people-pleaser, and one thing I've learnt is that we are only responsible for how we respond to people when they're in need and never responsible for how they react to our kind gestures.

Whatever happens, you are not the problem. You are the good person, and that's enough. Do not let people stop you from doing good to others. Life is short, and how much people have a taste of your goodness counts.
