The women in my life-my family. My Mom is in the middle, then from left to right, my sister Valerie, my niece Angela (Valerie’s daughter), my sister Linda, and my niece Julia (Linda’s daughter). This painting hangs in Linda’s house. These women are my entire world, and mean so much to me. You’re never quite prepared to live life without your Mother. I was deeply honored to do this commission for my wonderful cousin Tammy Dixon @tamerad1 of her daughter Jessica @jess.hanna20 and her beautiful family. I have a gigantic Italian family, and this is the Cuccaro branch of that—-they come from my Grandmother’s side. I never met my Grandmother, since she died when my Father was a little boy…her name was Rose 🌹 She has always been my Guardian Angel. When I told my father I was hired to do Madonna’s English Roses, the first words out of his mouth were Rose Cuccaro. So that poignant fact made doing this portrait even more special than it already was. Love you Tammy! by @jeffreyfulvimari

Wanted to share this with you guys…

My niece Julia is on her honeymoon in Tokyo. The first thing she did when she got there was go to Lawson, because I told her my Mom, her Grandma, lived across the street from the very first Lawson’s store in the US, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and probably knew Mr. Lawson, because he was their Milk man!

Lawson’s was the corner convenience store I grew up with in Ohio…I walked there almost every day for candy and comic books. The US stores are closed now, but there is a Lawson store (no apostrophe S) on virtually every corner in Japan. They even have Natural Lawson, which is a completely Organic convenience store (called Konbini in Japan). Someone really needs to emulate Japanese Konbini in the US…they have basically EVERYTHING packed into a small store. You can get 5 types of champagne, 3 types of flan, or 3 types of fresh Pain au chocolat, a huge array of fresh french pastries, a clean white work shirt, a tie, stationery, sushi, rice balls…all in variety, and much more. It feels so efficient, and kind of like magic how much they pack in there. Puts all our stores to shame!

My Japanese agents always laugh at me because out of all the amazing grocery stores and restaurants in Japan, I am a 100% nerd stan for Lawson’s! taken in Ebisu, Shibuya by @jeffreyfulvimari
