It’s so touching to get photos from my family as they enjoy Santa Barbara. They just want me to know they’re ok, and I can see in their eyes they hope I’m jealous, er I mean happy. Right!? Riiiiiiiight… by @jeffreynelsen

One never knows who you can scare at Ohare airport. Prolific composer Jim Stephenson just hangin’ oot! When a tall strange man stands too close and starts going through his bag of music, we now know all Jim does is slowly turn toward the strange man while verrrrry slowly lifting his eyebrows. So great to catch up. That second photo is when he reminded me about knocking his trumpet over, in concert, at the St. Barth’s music fest…eeesh! He admitted he knocked my scooter over too! by @jeffreynelsen

The mission of the Horn Studio of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music is to provide superior training for horn players aspiring to be professional performing musicians, horn teachers, and music educators. The three full-time horn professors provide a thorough grounding in horn technique, musical and artistic skills, and mental training, while the ensembles and chamber music programs, which are among the strongest in the country, provide ensemble training of the highest order. Access to the diverse skills and experience of the three professors gives students the opportunity and tools to explore all avenues of horn knowledge and performance and leave Indiana University as the best possible version of themselves. Our graduates venture out as contributing citizens of the music world and beyond. Both faculty and students value a supportive environment for learning in which students enjoy a strong sense of community, mutual respect, constructive competition, inclusiveness, and equity.
