Seventeen chapters.
No agent.
Sponsors who paid for it.

Lisa DiNoto Glassner came on the show to walk through exactly how her book got written, funded, and published, and the part that surprised me most wasn’t the writing. It was that she got brands to underwrite the whole thing without taking a single affiliate dollar.

“I don’t care if it’s two weeks from now or two years from now put the date on the calendar”

She brain dumped the entire table of contents in one afternoon. That outline became the project plan, and every morning after that the only question was “which chapter am I ready for today?”

Outline in March, final draft by mid June.

She wrote the book brand agnostic first, then went looking for the gaps a partner could actually fill.

Travel, childcare, stroller rental, anti chafe.

Then she pitched companies she already used herself.
Flat fee, never affiliate.

Her reasoning is what stuck with me, she didn’t want her community wondering whether that was the reason she recommended somebody.

For anybody sitting on a book they haven’t written: the things you know best are the things you underestimate yourself on the most, because you assume everybody already knows them.

That feeling is the first sign you’re the expert.

“It’s not a book, it’s a franchise”

Can we talk about how much effort goes into making videos LOOK interesting these days?

Kirk Nugent thinks we've been putting the empHAsis on the wrong sylLABle. 😂

I'm curious. Would you rather watch a beautifully edited video or someone who REALLY knows how to tell a story?

Creators might be sitting on a pretty useful pile of AI context without realizing it.

Your old transcripts.

You've already done the hard part.

Those are YOUR ideas.
YOUR explanations.
YOUR stories.
YOUR way of saying things.

Conor Brown is finding more and more ways to feed that material back into AI.

Which has me wondering...
What's hiding in your transcript archive?

Before you build another AI automation, go look at last week.
Seriously.

Where did you get stuck?
What took forever?
What did you keep putting off?

What did you do for the 47th time and think, “I cannot believe I'm doing this AGAIN”? 😂

THAT might be a better place to start.

Jennifer Bennett's weekly review makes a lot of sense to me.

What task would show up on yours?

“I gotta figure out my insurance. I gotta figure out my taxes. I gotta figure out all of the things...But they're MY things.”

I really liked that line.

Because working for yourself comes with some really annoying stuff nobody puts in the inspirational entrepreneurship posts.

But for Marielou, figuring out those things is worth the trade if she gets to own her time.

For my self-employed people: what's the annoying part of working for yourself that you'll happily take over going back to a regular job?

“Crappier video.”

Lowell Brown said it, not me. 😂
But I think most of us know exactly the kind of video he means.

I talk to some REALLY smart people on Creator News Live.
And every week there are a few things said during the show that I immediately think...

“I need to remember that.”

Then Friday rolls around again. 😅

So I started turning these awesome conversations into one-page cheat sheets.

NOT transcripts or episode summaries. They're the notes I’d want sitting next to me when I actually try to DO something with what I learned.

And they're free.

You can grab them at jeffsieh.com/cheatsheet

Views don’t matter if you can’t reach your audience again.

That’s the difference between content and email.

Content gets attention.

Email keeps it.

Sometimes expertise can hurt your content.

If you lead with what people need, they won’t click.

Start with what they want.

Confession:

I think sometimes we send an email and secretly hope people will reply because it was just THAT brilliant. 😂

Paul Gowder isn't waiting around for that.

He asks his subscribers direct questions and actually gives them a reason to hit reply.

Which made me curious...When was the last time you actually ASKED your email list something? by @jeffsieh

New AI agent drops.

Creators everywhere:

“WHAT CAN I USE THIS FOR?!” 😂

Angie Callen would like us to calm down for a second.
