I think most women have been solving the wrong problem this whole time ⬇️

Most women already know they should take care of their skin.

They know sunscreen is important.
They know consistency matters.
They know healthy habits make a difference.

The problem is that life gets busy.

And when life gets busy, taking care of yourself is often the first thing to go.

I've been there too.

And it's not because you don't care.

Not because you're lazy.

Not because you're doing anything wrong.

But because there are always more urgent things demanding your attention:

• Work
• Family
• Responsibilities
• Everyone else's needs

I'm not saying these things aren't important. I'm saying that it's easy to put yourself last or postpone self-care when your energy is demanded from all directions.

And before you know it, years can pass like that.

Always meaning to start.

Always planning to make more time for yourself.

Always putting yourself somewhere further down the list.

One day you realize:

You've spent so much time taking care of everyone else that you've forgotten how to take care of yourself.

That's why I believe skincare matters.

Not because perfect skin matters.

But because creating small moments of care for yourself matters.

Because every time you show up for yourself, you're sending yourself a message:

I matter too.🤍

And maybe that's what you've been missing all along.

This reel is not about making you feel bad or guilty for postponing self-care.

It's a gentle reminder to come back to yourself every time you drift off, because life is hectic and we all forget about ourselves or deprioritize self-care some times.

In this day and age, it's almost inevitable.

So follow along if you're trying to become a woman who comes back to herself every time 🤍 by @jelacare

This is something a lot of women end up doing ⬇️

Work comes first.

The deadlines.
The meetings.
The emails.

Then family comes first.

Then friends.
Then responsibilities.
Then everything else life throws at you.

And somewhere along the way, you stopped being on your own priority list.

Not because you don't care about yourself.

Not because you're lazy.

Not because you're bad at self-care.

But because you've been carrying so much for so long that taking care of yourself started feeling optional.

So when you look at women who seem to have healthy skin, healthy habits, and their life together...

It's easy to think they're more disciplined than you.

But often, they've simply learned something important:

You can't keep pouring from an empty cup.

Taking care of yourself isn't selfish.

It's necessary.

And no, skincare won't solve all your problems.

But spending a few minutes every day taking care of yourself can be a powerful reminder that you matter too 🤍

Follow if you're trying to become a woman who takes care of herself without making life more complicated 🫶🏻

They just do this one thing ⬇️

The woman with healthy skin.

The woman who works out.

The woman who seems to have her life together.

She's not more motivated than you.

She just started before she felt ready.

Most women wait until they have:
✔ more time
✔ more knowledge
✔ more certainty

But confidence rarely comes before action.

It comes after.

You don't need to have everything figured out.

You just need to take the first step.

One day you'll be grateful you did 🤍

Follow for simple skincare advice that helps you start before you feel "ready" ✅️

I don't think most women want perfect skin.

I think they want to feel comfortable in their own skin again.

To stop avoiding photos.

To stop comparing themselves to other women.

To stop looking in the mirror and immediately focusing on everything that's "wrong."

To feel fresh.
Confident.
Taken care of.

That's why skincare matters.

Not because you need flawless skin.

Because you deserve to feel good when you look at yourself.

And if you've been putting yourself last for a long time...

Maybe this is your sign to start choosing yourself again 🤍

Follow if you're ready to become the woman who takes care of herself consistently 🫶🏻

Nobody talks about this.

The reason many women want better skin isn't vanity.

It's confidence.

It's wanting to leave the house without feeling self-conscious.

It's wanting to stop comparing yourself to other women.

It's wanting to look in the mirror and feel good.

It's wanting to feel put together even on busy days.

And when skincare feels overwhelming, many women stay stuck for years.

Researching.
Overthinking.
Buying random products.
Starting and stopping.

Not because they don't care.

Because they don't know where to start.

Good skincare isn't about chasing perfection.

It's about creating a simple routine that supports your skin and your confidence.

Because when you feel good in your skin, you show up differently.

And every woman deserves that.

If you're overwhelmed by skincare and want someone to simplify it for you, DM me "SKIN" and follow for more 🤍

Can we stop calling women lazy when they're actually overwhelmed?

Because most women I talk to don't lack motivation.

They lack clarity.

They've spent months (sometimes years) trying to figure skincare out.

Watching videos.
Reading articles.
Comparing products.
Saving posts.

Only to end up even more confused than when they started.

The skincare industry has convinced women that they need to become skincare experts before they can take care of their skin.

You don't.

You don't need to know every ingredient.
You don't need to understand every skincare trend.
You don't need a 10-step routine.

You just need a starting point.

And sometimes the hardest part isn't skincare itself.

It's trusting yourself enough to start.

If you've been putting off skincare because it feels overwhelming, know that you're not alone 🤍

What's one thing that confuses you most about skincare right now?

It took me a while to realize this ⬇️

The biggest thing skincare changes isn't your skin.

It's your relationship with yourself.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of women stopped putting themselves on their own priority list.

Work comes first.
Family comes first.
Everyone else comes first.

And then one day you look in the mirror and realize you've been taking care of everyone except yourself.

That's why I don't see skincare as vanity.

To me, it's a daily act of self-care and self-respect.

A few minutes where you remind yourself:
🤍 I matter too.
🤍 I deserve care too.
🤍 I am worth showing up for.

And that's why so many women struggle to start.

Because skincare feels like "one more thing" on an already overwhelming to-do list.

But what if it wasn't another task?

What if it was the one thing you did every day just for yourself?

Healthy skin is a beautiful side effect.

The real transformation is becoming a woman who shows up for herself daily and consistently.

If you've been wanting to start skincare but don't know where to begin, DM me "SKIN" and follow for more 💌

The skincare ingredients I would be careful with as a beginner 👇

One of the biggest mistakes I see women make is damaging their skin barrier by using products that contain too many potentially irritating ingredients.

That's what happened to me as well when I first started my skincare journey. I bought and used products without checking the ingredient list, and without checking the proper way to use it.

This mistake damaged my skin incredibly.

So to prevent you from making the same mistake, here are some ingredients I would be cautious with when starting out:

🤍 Fragrance / Parfum
Can be irritating for some people, especially if you have sensitive skin.

🤍 Essential Oils
Natural doesn't always mean gentle. Ingredients like citrus oils, peppermint oil, and tea tree oil can cause irritation for some skin types.

🤍 Alcohol Denat.
Not automatically bad, but products with high amounts can feel drying and irritating for some people (including me when I first started).

🤍 High-Percentage Acids
Strong exfoliating acids can damage your skin barrier when used too often or too soon, especially if you already have a damaged and/or dehydrated skin barrier.

🤍 Benzoyl Peroxide
Very effective for acne, but can also be drying and irritating if not used correctly or overused.

🤍 Multiple Active Ingredients Together
The biggest beginner mistake of all. For example, if you mix retinol, acids and vitamin c at once, your barrier can get irritated and inflamed real fast.

My advice?

Start simple with clean products:
✨ gentle cleanser
✨ moisturizer
✨ sunscreen

Then introduce ONE new active ingredient at a time, while applying it in the correct way and making sure it is free of any potential ingredients that are irritating for your skin.

Healthy skin isn't built by using the strongest or trendiest products.
It's built through consistency, patience, and choosing products that fit YOUR skin.

DM me "SKIN" if you'd like help building a simple and clean Korean skincare routine that works for your skin and your lifestyle 💌
