Day 29 - Sober October

Often I would hear people saying these kind of things and it was like they were speaking another language 🤔

You don’t have to be drinking everyday to realise your relationship with alcohol needs to change.

My inability to say any of these things led to me feeling like I didn’t have control over my choices or behaviours.
When I made the choice to stop drinking I regained the control and you can too!

If you are wondering what comes next after sober October I’d love to connect and discuss the possibilities 💕 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Do you ever find yourself talking to you in a way you would never dream of talking to others? 🤔

Perhaps it holds you back when trying to over come problems and challenges?
Or keeps you from achieving your goals?
We expect so much from ourselves yet give ourselves so little compassion…..

Try talking to yourself today in the same way you would others?
Encouraging, accepting of mistakes and an understanding that we are not perfect 💕

If you’d like to have a conversation about working through any of your problem patterns please get in touch ☺️

So throughout October for Sober October 😊
I’m going to try and jump on each day, (not in my comfort zone!) with a little something in support of anyone considering having a break or making a change to their relationship with alcohol. 🍷🍺 😳💪
If you’ve been thinking about it, why not give it a go!? 💕

Day 31 - Sober October

Wherever you are on your journey, know that this isn’t the end….. perhaps just the beginning!?
🙌💫🙏

Thank you for watching, following, commenting and supporting! ♥️

Posting everyday was challenging at times and there is no way I would have remained accountable during my drinking days!! 😵‍💫

Day 30 - Sober October

Following on from yesterday’s -
‘things I never said…..’ ‘ to things I now say!’ 🙌

Now these may sound incredibly boring to some 🥱
But for me these small things are huge and bring me so much joy. 💫
I have a sense of peace and fulfilment within me now I didn’t know was possible.
Of course life isn’t perfect and there are still many struggles but I have control and now feel like my decisions are mine and mine alone 🙏

As sober October comes to an end I’d love to connect and support you if you are considering where your sober journey will go next……. 💕 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 28 - Sober October

What would you be capable of if you ditched the booze….?

It became the perfect excuse for me to avoid the challenges that scared me! Sure I talked the talk…. But often didn’t do much about it…..

Things you don’t dream possible can start to happen once you realise you don’t need it…. Perhaps you never did because you are awesome as you are ☺️

So, if you would like to unlock the confidence and potential in you….. why not get in touch and let’s have a conversation? 💕 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 27 - Sober October

Alcohol is responsible for around 2.6 million deaths every year 😱

So taking a break - no matter how long for is going to be a huge benefit to both your physical and mental heath. ♥️

(Please consult a health professional if you have any concerns prior to stopping and how it might impact you.) by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 26 - Sober October

Relationships ☺️🫂

When alcohol becomes less important, other people have the opportunity to become more important.

We don’t realise how much we prioritise drinking and it’s not intentional….. but I think it does happen.

It’s such a gift 🎁 to be able to give the people you love your full attention without the distraction of alcohol 🥰🥰 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 25 - Sober October

It’s the last Sunday of October….. I want to know how you are feeling…..!
Are you counting down the days??? 😱
OR
Are you feeling like this is the start of something you want to continue? 🙌

I know I have felt both ways….. And you should be so proud for even beginning to make some changes 💕

I’d love to hear from you, and if you’d like to have a conversation about where to go next then send me a DM, visit my website or pop something in the comments.

🥰🙌💫 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 24 - Sober October

How often do you speak badly to yourself because of drinking alcohol 🍷 😵‍💫

Has alcohol become part of your identity? Do you associate it with part of ‘who you are’? I know I did for a long time…..

I want you to be kind to yourself and write down 3 positive things about you…. Now or in the future as you build a picture of yourself and who you are becoming 💕

Save this video as a reminder that you are awesome 🤩

And if you are ready to take your journey to the next level drop something in the comments and let’s have a conversation 💕 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 23 - Sober October

Learning to navigate our feelings! This is all new…. Without the numbing! 🤷‍♀️
Like learning a new language…… 😵‍💫

But with time we can allow the feelings to come and go and they don’t have to govern our every behaviour.

And guess what you get to feel the good stuff more too! 🥳💕 by @jemma_james_therapy_

Day 22 - Sober October

Dopamine levels are really stabilising now and we can begin to seek the joy in small things that would have felt pointless, mundane or boring! 🥱

This really does feel like such a gift for me, I am so grateful 🙏 as this stuff just passed me by before…..

If you are having moments of feeling a bit flat or are worried that others will find you boring, (I did) it will pass and you too will soon be finding an insane amounts of joy in
A cup of coffee ☕️
The fluffiness of a bumble bee 🐝
Or the fact that you’ve cleaned out your kitchen drawer! 😱 (maybe that’s just me!!) 🤣

Let me know how these brain changes are benefiting your life 💕 by @jemma_james_therapy_
