This week’s contract was to take two wooden doors on slider tracks (circa 1960) and hinge them to create a wide open pantry closet off a kitchen.

⚠️Anyone who has done this knows the door jambs are rarely plumb and rarely line up on both sides. 😵‍💫

After some door cutting, sanding, and maneuvering the hinges “just so,” the project came out great. We were able to salvage some beautiful solid pine doors without purchasing new, hollow core cardboard type from the big box hardware stores (Guess which ones? 🤫)

Happy 4th Birthday to our loving Poodle, Pepe. 🎂🎉

Our half bath finally got its tile floor in between my customers this month. 🥵. Good, old fashioned hex tile is always a go-to in a 1920’s house! Sure beats the terrible vinyl plank flooring we first used when the bathroom was installed in our finished basement.

A thank you to Dave at Dave’s Watch Repair in Closter, NJ for reviving my grandfather’s 1946 Hamilton Railway Special he carried with him each day in and out of Grand Central Terminal until his passing in 1970. Saverio Raphael Jamele (pictured on the right) last photo circa 1950. The watch is a testament to American craftsmanship before production moved overseas. 😕 by @jemo_nj

Working in one of my favorite homes in Ridgewood, NJ this week! Built in 1930 🏡 and largely intact from its original design and plan.
Plaster work after snow damage and new vanity for a 3rd floor bathroom built for servants’ quarters - recently used by the owners’ grandchildren. 🤗
