He hasn’t been home in almost 2 years.

He’s missed birthdays…
holidays…
weddings…
everyday moments…

He’s missed watching our daughter grow.

And she’s learning that her dad is someone on a screen.

We haven’t shared a meal, a coffee, or a bed in almost two years.

And that broke something in me.

I don’t want this to be our life.

I don’t want him carrying all the weight.

I don’t want these years to keep passing us by.

So I started building something from home…
step by step.

Because I want him home.
I want our life back.

This is what it looks like for me…

No quiet office.
No perfect routine.

Just small moments in between real life 🤍

Building something while my daughter plays next to me…
sometimes stopping…
sometimes distracted…
sometimes wondering if I’m doing enough.

But I’m showing up anyway.

Because I know why I started.

I wanted something more…
something I could do from home…
something that fits into this life.

Not a perfect one.

I’m still learning.
Still figuring it out.

But at least I’ve started.

And that matters more than doing it perfectly.

If your life feels full
but you still want more…

This morning I bought my daughter gumboots for the rain…

She was SO excited.
Running through the shopping centre, laughing, exploring…
I had to chase after her because she just kept going.

And all I could think was—

He’s missing this.

He didn’t get to see her little face light up.
He didn’t get to hold her hand while she walked.
He didn’t get to run after her when she got too far.

And me?

I felt this heavy guilt.

I can be here for these moments…

But he’s the one carrying everything
and still missing it all.

That’s not the life I want for us.

I don’t want him working so hard for a life he doesn’t even get to live with us.

I want him HERE.
In the small moments.
In the ordinary days that mean everything.

That’s why I started building something from my phone.
So I can contribute too.
So we can bring him home.

Social media can make it easy to focus on how things look.

But at the end of the day, I care much more about what life actually feels like when the phone is down.

More flexibility. More choices. More breathing room.

That’s the kind of future I’m working towards. 🤍

I used to think I needed a completely different schedule before I could start building something of my own.

But life isn’t suddenly going to become less busy.

So instead, I’m learning how to make the time I already have work a little differently.

I’ve talked a lot this week about wanting another income stream, so here’s the simple version:

I’m learning digital marketing and how to monetise social media.

I’m using a done-for-you system rather than trying to create everything from scratch.

I’m still learning.
I’m still testing.
I haven’t “made it.”

I’m documenting the process from the beginning. 🤍

I think it’s easy to focus so much on the end result that we forget there’s a whole learning process in between.

I’m currently in that process.

Learning how social media marketing works.
Learning how to create content.
Learning how to build an audience.

And eventually, learning how to monetise it.
