Uli got me this 2024 Year of the Dragon crystal figurine when he went to China 2 years ago for work. Chinese dragons are associated with water and weather so I included those elements in my little painting.

My first #gouachepainting - what a fun medium to create with! In class we chose a trinket to paint and this is where it went.

This maneki-neko's message on his coin with the left paw raised is inviting in friends or customers.

Good vibes, good art, and good people at the Between Seasons Art Show last night. ✨

I appreciate my Hessies for the mini reunion! 💜 I missed pictures with @ellie682 and Walter, @ye_torres, and Margie & friends too... but was stoked everyone came out with bells on!

More art classes are starting for me soon, and I have a few new ideas in my sketchbook I can develop in class. taken in Bad Astronaut Brewing by @jen.does.art.now

New painting! If I do say so myself... I love it. 💜 💛 💙

Preparatory drawing from "tree week" in the art class I took last spring at Rice, based on a photo I took in northern California.

The audacity to desecrate this stunningly gorgeous part of Earth is downright heartbreaking. 💔

Abbott silently allowed bulldozers to carve out terrain and plow down cottonwoods for days, then popped up declaring "no barriers" will be built. Nothing about "no roads." If you haven't lived in Texas, it might be hard to understand how gravely despicable this response is regarding Big Bend.

Every day it seems a new atrocity created by maga presents itself. It's got to come to an end FFS. Show up and vote these fckwads out in November! taken in Big Bend National Park by @jen.does.art.now

"Unbridled" 2026
Acrylic on canvas

Based on a prepatory drawing utilizing the 4-value technique Laura Spector (@lauramakesart) taught in a drawing class last spring. I decided to carry over the 4 discrete values for the horse in the painting, rather than blend, and I think it adds to the drama! 🐎 🌅
