One year has passed since I left a piece of my soul on that couch…

Crouching 1/2 on 1/2 off that platform in those loose grey pants, T and relaxed button down (exactly my uniform while deep in addiction: nothing you care about, the looser the better in order to hide your inflamed, decaying body, and ‘easy-off’ for when things get messy..). Light slowly traces the edges of my hiding spot as those 4 notes pierce the back of my neck, sending a rippling explosion of energy out through my ice cold extremities. I slowly rise behind her, our spines melt into one, and I return to the moment in my life when, engulfed by a sea of black and nothingness - there was nothing left to do but face myself…

This is the art I crave - the art the requires you to turn inside out and walk straight back through the flames. The art that allows you to dive into the most ruined parts of yourself, turn it into fuel, and transform it all into a language of compassion, acceptance and love.

Forever grateful, forever changed.

on passing the @outsidersmusical offstage swing/DC🔥 to my dear ferocious @jenavanel 😭💜

This was a special 10 days at the Jacobs. Last Friday, watching the show after another four months away, I realized I personally had brought 7 of the 16 people onstage into the show // taught them their tracks, leaking my brain and my whole heart and soul, as efficiently as possible, in the studio and on the dirt with them. Each of them truly unbelievable talents and special colleagues. Makes me feel like my heart still lives on at the Jacobs even when I’m not there, and that’s an honor I was utterly smacked by from my spot in standing room can’t fully describe.

Cheering the tour cast and company, anyone about to join the show, and anyone who ever touched and helped build this beast on ✨

Never did I think this would end up to be one of my favorite artistic endeavors I have EVER attempted…

@reedluplau I feel so damn lucky and grateful to be in your orbit and even luckier when you call on me to help bring your visions to life - because they are brilliant EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Thank you for this challenge, it was truly epic. Saying yes to you is the easiest thing I’ve ever done. You are incredible, friend. Thank you 🩵🔥

I Put A Spell On You 10th Anniversary was an EPIC night of community, artistry, service and LOVE, raising over $310,000 for the @aliforneycenter in support of their mission to protect and empower homeless LGBTQ+ youth!
