- i never post anything this long but this is worth sharing and hopefully worth reading to you.this is my little sister johnna. and for those of you who may not know, she is on the autistic spectrum. it was brought to my attention during her last week of school that the following stories were posted from a couple of students accounts. for the sake of their privacy i won’t disclose names or @‘s but i still wanted to show the stories themselves given that these kids chose to post it on their private accounts. at first i thought i was being irrational and an overprotective sister thinking something was up with the way these pics were taken, the captions, the expressions, the song choices but it wasn’t until i showed the screenshots to some people i trust that i realized it’s clear to everyone its not just one of those friendly posts. everyone, myself included saw this as a mocking story- jokes or not my sister isn’t aware about any of this as she isn’t fully able to comprehend the situation. its worth mentioning that these same screenshots were spread to group chats amongst some of the other middle schoolers where they talked ab how “fucked up” it is. that in itself hurt so much to hear as an older sister. my girl has no way of defending herself given her condition yet kids are still willing to pose in pictures around her while she looks aggravated? i would’ve been a little more fine if they were actually friends or anything but my sister couldn’t name any girl in the pics. and she always tells me about her friends in detail, them not included. there’s more to this story but i wanted to share this here in hopes to spread some sort of awareness in this kind of behavior being unacceptable. i hope that everyone who took the time to read this keeps in mind how things look when they’re posted & the effects they have. im leaving in the fall for college and the hardest thing about it isn’t the stress of school or change, its the worries of my sister being victim to something like this in the future. taken in Wahiawa Middle School by @jeneeesisss
