Abuse isn’t always physical.

Domestic violence can take many forms—physical and sexual violence, stalking, threats, controlling behaviors, and actions that create fear for someone’s safety.

Sometimes, there are no visible signs. But that doesn’t make the impact any less real.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s know the signs, believe survivors, and create spaces where people feel safe to seek support. 💜

At Jenesse Center, we stand with survivors and remain committed to providing safety, support, and pathways toward healing and self-sufficiency.

Awareness is the first step. Action creates change.

Recent events at Cornell have brought renewed attention to conversations about sexual violence, consent, accountability, and how we support survivors.

At Jeneration J, we believe prevention starts with education and honest conversations. Young people deserve the tools to understand healthy relationships, recognize unhealthy behaviors, communicate boundaries, support their peers, and know where to turn when they need help.

We also know that prevention is not only about what happens after harm occurs. It means creating a culture where respect, consent, communication, and accountability are part of the conversation before violence happens.

We stand with survivors and their right to privacy, dignity, and choice in how and when they share their experiences. Speaking out about sexual violence can take tremendous courage, and we recognize the bravery it can take to share your story. Survivors deserve to be heard, respected, and supported without having their privacy compromised.

If you or someone you know is experiencing intimate partner violence, support is available:
