She’s left an unimaginable hole in my heart. Zoey wasn’t my initial pick to rescue, but ultimately stole my heart with her gentleness and calm demeanor, something I needed more of as a 26 year old terror. I am so blessed to have been gifted her whole life and every ounce of her love. She was the biggest blessing I could imagine, and taught me so much about selflessness and loyalty.

I cannot remember life without her and dread facing the quiet days to come. From the first time I held her and she put both arms around my neck as if she was hugging me, I was doomed. She never did stop cuddling, snuggling into my neck, arms, or any extra space she could squeeze into for the next 14 years of her too short life.

She was anxious, loving, curious, weird, and perfect.

I will miss her every day.
