I like to build things. In my 3 decades in the home furnishings industry, of which I am so fortunate to be a part, I have built multiple startup brands and businesses from the ground up, cofounded my own brand, and launched new divisions and platforms within established businesses. Throughout my career, I have never stopped thinking like a startup. Innovation, curiosity, drive, resourcefulness. The very characteristics required to build something new also enhance and augment storied, legacy brands, helping them to remain vibrant, dynamic, and exciting. I met the founders of @tempaper_designs many years ago, several years after they launched their brand, and was struck by how their approach to business embodied the same qualities that I value. While working in set design on television and film production sets in the early aughts @juliab.au and @jennmmatthews identified a need in the #wallcoverıng space, invented and patented a new product, and brought this offering to life. 2 decades on, the business that they built continues to innovate and inspire. I am thrilled to have joined @tempaper_designs where we are building new things together including a dedicated trade collection in luxe materials, rich textures, and stunning patterns which incorporate sustainable practices and represent the best in #wallpaper design. I can’t wait to share more as this platform takes shape and to work with the Tempaper & Co. team who continues to lead with curiosity, passion, and vision. Visiting România had been on my list for many years and I adored exploring its incredible cities and landscapes. Bucharest, Braşov, Transylvania. The grandeur of its Belle Epoque edifices and the beauty of the majestic Carpathian Mountains cradling the legendary Bran Castle of Dracula lore were breathtaking. Art, architecture, auctions, vintage, and vampires. An indelible trip. Travel provides a treasured conduit to discovery, fueling growth. My global travels continue to inspire curiosity and discovery. The past 11 years have been a whirlwind and a dream. Never could I have imagined that an experience could change me so profoundly.
