Lonnie is coming home from Gillette, Wyoming today. He had the chance to umpire USSSA tournament in the town where Dad was born, on our anniversary. It is extra special to me because Dad was the one who married us. I know Dad is smiling down on Lonnie saying, I told you the dry heat is better in Wyoming 😏. I am almost sure he had in orchestrating this trip to Wyoming, just so he could tell Lonnie "I told you so" when we get to heaven.
So this weekend, while it is our anniversary and Lonnie's birthday, I have been pushing through the grief. Wishing I could hear Dad call Lonnie his nickname "He-who-chases-bear" 😆. Wishing Dad could be here to give Lonnie all the tips and tricks of traveling to Wyoming and listening to all his stories of growing up. Wishing he could have taken Isaac up to visit like he had planned. Wishing we could have taken him to visit, just one more time.
