I left the house at 7 am and got home at 8 pm after picking up the girls from Grandpas house. Josh is out working on an emergency gas call, I get the kiddos inside and Hannah says Mom why are you always working late… she’s four years old..as a parent it totally sucks to hear.

I hope one day she gets my why for a full time job, trying to build a photography business that requires late night sessions and weekends consumed with editing.

Unsure if it will hit later in life that we work so hard to be able to do extra activities, have nice things, never tell them no to a cake pop at target 😅…or will they end up teaching me a lesson that at the end of the day all those things never really mattered. 🥹 by @jenkhoffman

My sweet girl, you surprise me in the best ways every single day.

You have the patience of your father, and the biggest heart.

This morning, Chloe was having a full meltdown while I was trying to get everyone out the door. I asked Hannah to go help her little sister put on her shoes while I carried bags to the car. When I walked back inside, I stopped in my tracks.

There was Hannah, patiently helping Chloe with her shoes and gently saying, “It’s okay, Chloe. Just take a deep breath in… and out… and again.”

She was so calm. So kind. So loving.

I giggle because I’m constantly telling the girls let’s take a deep breath in and out but also because this mama needs to take a deep breath. 😅

Later, I picked her up from VBS and asked how camp was. She held up a little bag of Play-Doh and proudly said, “Today I learned that Jesus still loves us even when we’re messy.”

My heart.

At the beginning of this year, I started attending Worden Church because I felt like something was missing in my life. I knew I needed a church family and a place to grow in my faith. At first, it was something I was doing for myself.

The girls started coming with me, and now our entire family goes together.

It’s moments like these that remind me how much bigger this journey has become for our family.

What makes it even more meaningful is that it took over a year of a friend faithfully calling, texting, and inviting me to church. I always had a reason why I couldn’t make it. Every excuse seemed valid at the time.

Then this year, I finally decided to choose myself and invest in something I knew I needed.

What I found wasn’t just a church.

I found a community, a church family, and little moments that show up in the hearts of my children when I least expect them.

And for that, I’m incredibly grateful. ❤️ by @jenkhoffman
