Hospitality is a love language. 🖤

This week at Mission Santa Barbara, our region came together to welcome restaurants from across the country and I had the privilege of pouring alongside vintners who have given their whole hearts to this craft.

Wine at this level is living art, I don’t believe it’s just grapes, as if you look close enough you can see the reflections of the souls of the people who harvest and make each singular sense of place a bottling.

I left a piece of my heart in the valley, reinvigorated by the community, and by the reminder that when we stand together we become a force.

Let’s not forget why we do what we do… wine is simply meant to be shared and bring joy, that’s the point of it all. And I will always try to lead with love, light and a hospitality first ethos. 🖤 this is my love letter to you🍷 xx taken in Santa Barbara Wine Country by @jenn_charbonnet

Happy Derby Day! A few years back, my cousin @jennyraerodriguez and I had a spontaneous weekend at Santa Anita track. Our family friends were racing one of their horses and we got to tag along. The horse WON and we got to go to the winners circle 🏆 Afterward, we went to a lovely steak dinner with the trainer and his wife.

Fast forward to today, those same friends and the same trainer (who sadly lost his wife suddenly in Feb) are racing in the Kentucky Derby!

🌹🏇Betting it all on SO HAPPY 🏇 for the win! 🌹

2016… the year I was a bride, became a Mrs, saw a bunch of bands with my best friends (!), went to Europe for work, pranced through vineyards and interviewed admired wine makers ❣️

Christmas used to be so sad. For 26 years, it was just any other day- no tree, no lights, no decorations. Pops said it wasn’t worth celebrating after my Mom died. It was empty, bleak -I hated it.

But last year at their 50th high school reunion, he reconnected with @pedigotress and their Hallmark love story unfolded. His new bride has brought so much love and light back into our world. I am truly grateful!
