feeling so grateful i get to achieve anything ive ever dreamed of. i just know teenage me would be ecstatic if she knew she’d be getting to dance and play dress-up with her friends.

thank you so much @weare.enf for selecting me to be a part of this awesome dance crew. i feel so honored to be around some of the most incredible dancers i’ve ever seen. and i am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to get to pursue my love of dance. 🥹🌊💞

ive been so sentimental lately, life really brings you exactly what you need when you’re open to the greatest change. returning to dance this past year has brought pieces of myself back that i had lost over the past 6 years. i am so thankful for everything that is, and that has led me to exactly where i am. 🥲🫶🌊🤍🌿💫

china 🇨🇳 it’s been real, it’s been fun, it’s been real fun.

for those who don’t know, i spent the last month in wudang mountain, located in the Hubei province in mainland China. The mountain is the birthplace of Tai Chi, has a rich culture of kung fu, spirituality, and overall emphasis on the balance of body and mind.
I stayed at a Kung Fu school and trained 30 hrs a week, pushing through intense conditions, weather, pain, emotions, everything.
i truly believe that the universe has a funny way about giving you exactly what you need when you begin to ask. to be separated from everything, and everyone i know, on the other side of the world, immersed in another culture and language, away from all distractions or vices. it forced me to sit with everything that is so easy to run from back home, and with it all stripped away, all that was left to discover, was myself. now upon returning home, i get to continue to explore that.
this journey has taught me so much, about the world, myself, and how far we can go when we strengthen our mind.
i have so much i could really say about this experience, the people i met along the way, and everything i learned. but i think i might need some more time to integrate it all once im back home so i can collect my thoughts.

i have immense gratitude i acted upon this opportunity to live out one of my childhood dreams. as i young girl, i was always so fascinated by the world of martial arts, watching my big brother in taekwondo, and then joining in when i was 6, watching movies and tv shows based in different asian cultures and martial arts. this has really been a lifelong dream of mine.
and i think it may just be the key to happiness and success. to grant such joy to your inner child through following their passions is priceless.

thankful for the push from @weare.enf to create something for their S2 audition. this was really my first time creating something in the studio. and i had a lot of fun putting it together.

very thankful for the flow-state that occurred to create this piece. i’m finding it to be very true what they say about pouring your emotions into your art. i let them lead the way and in turn, the process was very natural and im very proud of the result of my first piece. i can’t wait to create more. #pdx #dancer #choreography by @jennaearth
