How my season ended vs how my season began.

I still don’t have the words to fully describe my time with Fusion Core this summer. For now, I hope thank you can suffice. I am so honored to have received the award for Best Open Class Drum Major at the last DCA Finals held in Rochester, NY. Many people to thank, many memories to recall, and all will be told soon.

My submission for the @openmarchapp drill writing competition! Had a lot of fun with this one. Didn’t try to focus on keeping sections together but rather the forms the members were making (especially since the wind and brass parts are similar to each other). I hand placed the marchers in the spiral and made the inner spiral move on its own.

Voting is open now on the discord! All you have to do is find my submission and press the trophy reaction. Discord link in @openmarchapp ‘s bio. Competition closes at the end of this month.

Happy Mace Monday!
I had the day off from teaching so I figured I’d take advantage of the sunshine (before the rain came) and get spinning. Here’s a little improv mace moment ✨

On this March 4th, I am ecstatic to announce that I will be continuing my marching career as an Assistant Drum Major with THE Hawthorne Caballeros. I am extremely honored to have been chosen, and be a part of the FIRST all female drum major team in Caballeros history. Saying I can’t wait to get out onto the field is an understatement. I’m so excited to work with @kimberly.ann.r and @sarahhuelster this season.

I will forever be thankful for my time at Fusion Core. I truly have been changed for good. Although my long sappy post has yet to come (and don’t worry it WILL happen), I wanted to take the time on National Marching Music Day to share with you all my new plans after Fusion’s move south. I know you have been eagerly waiting, and I appreciate each and everyone’s support. I can’t wait for an amazing season for all corps on the field.

Back in May, I walked at graduation to close out an eventful 5 years at Kutztown. I am extremely thankful to have spent half a decade of my life learning, laughing, and growing through change. I wouldn’t have gotten here without the support of my professors, family, and friends from all over. With KUMU and KUDL (with me baby), KUR and an IBS Win, Actors Creating Theatre and the shows I was apart of, and KU Presents and those productions, a part of my heart will always be in Kutztown. Oh to love something so much, that makes saying goodbye so hard.

It’s forever good to be Golden 🐻❤️💛
