Join us at @AustinFilm Society on Tuesday, November 17 at 6pm for a screening of GROUNDSWELL a documentary exploring regenerative agriculture across five continents and the people putting it into practice. This is the third installation in the Kiss the Ground series after Kiss the Ground and Common Ground narrated by Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson. GROUNDSWELL shares stories of farmers, ranchers, scientists, and Indigenous leaders working to rebuild soil, restore ecosystems, and nourish communities. After the screening, stay for a panel with voices working at the intersection of food, land, culture, and community featuring: Mollie Engelhart: Regenerative farmer and chef. Previously managed Cafe Gratitude and founder of Sovereignty Ranch, connecting healthy soil, nourishing food, and regenerative farming. Ryland Engelhart: Co-founder of Kiss the Ground, the nonprofit advancing education and advocacy around soil health. Founder of American Regeneration focusing on expanding regenerative agriculture in the states who also previously helped manage Cafe Gratitude and now works alongside his sister in a labor of love at Sovereignty Ranch. Jenna Jasso: Co-founder and core team coordinator at Festival Beach Food Forest, co-owner of Tierra Sagrada, certified permaculture designer, community facilitator helping bring regeneration into Austin’s landscapes and community life. Gary Perez: Principal chief and cultural preservation officer for the Pakahua Coahuiltecan Peoples of Mexico and Texas, and a published researcher of Indigenous theology and archaeology. Taelor Monroe: Owner and director of Austin Permaculture Guild, permaculture educator, designer, and environmental advocate cultivating food sovereignty, healthy soil, and resilient communities. Come for the film. Stay for the conversation. Connect with people putting regeneration into practice. 📍 Austin Film Society 6259 Middle Fiskville Rd, Austin, TX 78752 🗓 Tuesday, November 17 @ 6pm 🎟 Tickets: link in bio "Start a big foolish project like Noah" - Rumi #GroundswellFilm #RegenerativeAgriculture Show quoted text by @jennajasso

Nourish body, heart, and soul with me tomorrow evening (every 3rd Friday) 7p-8:30p Cacao Ceremony + Breath + Sound We open the circle by declaring our intentions as we sip a cup of cacao. Then we move energy with somatics & breath work, followed by deep rest and reflection accompanied by a dynamic soundscape. Disclaimer: exposing yourself to this space could increase your chances of developing “magical thinking”. ✨ #communityhealing #mentalhealth #selfcare #gratitude #ceremony by @jennajasso
The forest is our classroom. A playground for curiosity. Just a glimpse of what is possible. Phase 2 of the food forest is gaining momentum after two years of active land stewardship, planting and cultivation. Last Saturday, dozens of plants were planted to establish an understory of supportive plant guilds for the trees. Friends, I encourage you to go visit the forest. We are hosting a multi-lingual plant walk on October 18th 9a-11a (in partnership with Roots & Wings) Visit festivalbeach.org for more info. A reminder that patriarchy can exist beyond men. As a community organizer in predominantly progressive, liberal spaces I’ve experienced covert patriarchy (through women in leadership) creep in and wreak havoc on community members showing up in service to the work. Dismantling systems of oppression and patriarchy requires a radical transformation in how we lead. A transformation that surrenders control, honors and trusts the intelligence of all community members, and does not place oneself as an authority (or savior). #smashthepatriarchy #patriarchalsociety #feminism #socialchange #feminineleadership by @jennajasso
Last night we gathered and sang in community. We released what we are ready to let go of, and we sang of our gratitude, grief, and resilience. Today I released our leaves, into the compost pile to be transformed into soil for nourishing the next season’s dreams. #communitysinging #sacredsinging #fallequinox by @jennajasso
Little by little… bit by bit. I’ve been picking up the pieces I left behind. Choosing to reintegrate some parts and compost others. It’s been a long slow return to self. Beyond the pre pandemic reality, beyond the initiation of motherhood and partnership. Beyond the shattered pieces of my self-image… I return with more experience, wisdom, and trust. And beginning to realize that I’m not alone in abstaining from political extremism that has risen over the last 6 years. Feeling a courage and clarity emerging from my heart, asking me to step up. by @jennajasso
I’ve been organizing and facilitating community spaces and experiences for fifteen years. I never anticipated doing this work, but it chose me. I have been guided every step of the way, and have been blessed with countless magical timeless communal moments. From my backyard on Willow st, to a dusty ol’ warehouse with no AC in the middle of the summer, to Alma de Mujer, to Casa de Luz, to Peru, Nepal, India, etc. I’ve organized 3 global movements, 5 local festivals, 7 international retreats, 8 community campouts, 7 “Om the Dome” (IYKYK), various workshops, song circles, hundreds of classes and more (like this little tea party in downtown Austin in 2019). Over the years, I’ve been preyed on by those who desire power and influence, yet lack the magic ingredients. They see (and treat) me as a pawn in their race to become King/Queen. The difference is their “empire” will be comprised of followers, while we’re over here building a community of visionary leaders. 👩🏽‍🎨🦹🏽‍♀️🧝🏼‍♀️🧚🏼‍♀️ If you are a polymath visionary leader, you will likely draw the same attention. Know your worth and exercise your boundaries. You are worth it. This verse comes to mind…. “Can nobody take my pride, can nobody hold me down, oh no, I got to keep on movin’.” Damn, did I just quote Pedi Diddy. My boy is the greatest gift. While driving him to school, I asked him what he felt proud of himself for… his answer was priceless. I’m so grateful to be his mom. 🥹 #motherhood #momming #mombrain #motherson #blessing by @jennajasso
My stress management hack… no deodorant. I chose to do this after an extended period of experiencing heart palpitations. I knew it was caused by stress and a dysregulated nervous system. Now I can sense my stress levels in real time. Embracing imperfection with a raw share today. 🙏🏽🙊 And experimenting with new tools. #stressmanagement #regulatednervoussystem #mentalhealth #selfcare #womenshealth by @jennajasso
