this is a post i never thought i’d have to write.

sunday, april 27th —
after unexpectedly clearing the worlds floor our first routine, we were taken backstage to prepare for our second performance. while rewarming up my last pass, punching for a whip double i’ve done countless times, I felt a pop, followed by instant, excruciating pain in my leg.

i knew something was seriously wrong but later on i found out i had completely torn my left achilles tendon and will have to undergo surgery this friday.

despite it all, i made the decision to go back out on the mat. i stepped onto that floor for my team, for our routine, and for everything we worked so hard for.
it wasn’t easy. it wasn’t perfect. but it was heart. and that’s what matters most to me.

i’m beyond grateful to have been surrounded by such passionate, dedicated, and insanely talented individuals who lifted me up in every way.

this wasn’t the ending i envisioned—not for our season, not for toxic, and not for myself.
but i know this: i gave it everything. and i’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

toxic will always be a part of me.
the recovery process will be hard, but the healing journey starts now.
thank you all for the endless love & support.

i’ve been struggling to find the words to explain how much this journey has meant to me. at worlds 2025, i competed on a fully ruptured achilles tendon and left in a wheelchair. i rushed home to miami for pre-op appointments and surgery, filled with uncertainty, fear, and questions about what the future would look like. but through all of it, the only thing i could focus on was finding a way back to doing what i love.

coming back in the same season after an injury like this felt impossible at times. there were moments i doubted myself, moments i was exhausted physically and mentally, and moments where quitting honestly felt easier. but every setback, every hard day, every small win along the way became a reminder of how much this sport means to me and how strong i truly am.

this journey challenged me in ways i never expected, but it also showed me the power of resilience, patience, and the people around me. i truly could not have done this without the unwavering support from my family, friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone who believed in me even on the days i struggled to believe in myself.

one year later, i’m beyond grateful to call myself a world champion, and for every moment that led me back to the same warmup mat and stage; stronger than before. ♥️
