POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Most people will tell you that I'm always singing whether I'm walking down the block, shopping in a store, or dance/walking on the treadmill. But singing on a stage with all eyes on me is when my fear and insecurities kick in.

I took @meisnerinmusic because I just wanted to get out of my head and stop putting so much pressure on myself to be perfect. The people who have been apart of this class have cheered me on, given advice, and we really supported each other. I'm so thankful that I took this class and really proud of what I've been able to accomplish.

So much love to our fearless leader @jillianpaige accompanist @kevin.anthony.smith23 and Monday's Hopeful Helpers @lefthandshake @operancoffee @tarampark @lauraxelrod & @jordan_goodsell

Song: Don't Rain on My Parade (Funny Girl, 1963)
Music by Jule Styne, Lyrics by Bob Merrill

MEET JENNEAN FARMER
2026-27 Writing Cohort Member

I’m a writer and actor originally from Memphis, TN, and I’m currently based in New York. I’ve been working professionally as an actor since 2006, pretty much learning the business by auditioning, booking work, meeting people, figuring things out, and continuing to grow along the way. After being honorably discharged from the military, I moved from Los Angeles to New York to really give acting a shot. That led me to The New School for Drama, where I earned my M.F.A. in Acting. Over the years, I’ve worked in TV, film, and theater, and found my way into writing, producing, and directing. These experiences have made me even more curious about the stories we tell and why we tell them. I’m interested in honest, layered stories about real people and the messy, funny, complicated things that make us human. At this point in my journey, I’m excited to keep learning, writing more, and finding my voice as a writer.

Y'all, I can't read sheet music to save my life.
But Google told me I needed to sing in C Major...
Google lied 😒
But I made it through that song!
