Ten days ago, I was feeling a little down, in part from being out of town a lot and being sick with a severe sinus infection for almost a month. Although I’m a pretty happy person, I really do get in my head and can get pretty down.
Reaching out and saying yes is always great medicine. 10 days have gone by and I’ve gone hiking twice, mountain biking, did an evening river paddle board and charcuterie float with girlfriends, paddle boarded up at Hosmer lake, went to our local concert at the park with friends and mom, to the fairgrounds to see Clay Walker (he still sounds amazing:) ) and even made it to a family birthday. So although the smoke has moved back in real life is here, I am feeling refreshed and full of gratitude. We live in a pretty special place and thankfully I’m surrounded by wonderful people to experience it with.

Yesterday, my brother @jaymgartz wonderful pup Harper crossed over the rainbow bridge. She wasn’t just my brother’s dog. She was our family and my dog Skip’s best pal.
On walks, as Skip was small, we could’ve easily lost him in the bushes. However, that was never a problem as all we needed to see was Harper’s tail - Skip would just be following right behind her wherever she went. Harper was Skip’s adventure buddy and seat cushion in the car.

Skip’s passing 2 yrs ago was so sudden, and the grief so grand, that I was unable to post at that time. This is my post honoring both of these wonderful dogs and their beautiful friendship.

It’s such a tremendous gift to have a soul dog. They are our favorite hellos and our saddest goodbyes.

Please hug your mutts today and give them an extra treat in honor of our Harperbug. by @jenngartz

Closed out my Utah trip with my Uncle Jon at his homestead in White Water Colorado! As always, a wonderful time hanging with the horses and the pup and my uncle. Also cut in some quality fishing time in the Blabk Canyon and my two biggest rainbow ever. Plus he got a new (used) UTV I was the first of the family to drive.:) yeehaw:) by @jenngartz

Moab memories from last week’s adventure, part 1. Such a great trip! Pushed myself further than I thought possible thanks to friends’ coaching and support. (Note I still don’t ride edges because hell no🤸🏻‍♀️)

Part 1-the people! Another Breakthrough T1D Ride (JDRF Ride) in the books! It was an honor to be surrounded by incredible people, riding their own distances, raising money for this worthy cause. Special huge shoutout to my dear friend Dick, who is 76, has no direct connection to Type 1 diabetes, does the large fundraising package, and road the full 100 miles! by @jenngartz
