This piece will always have a special place in our hearts.

“Foxes” was choreographed by the incredible Ms. Joanna
@jogalis_choreography during one of the most uncertain times. The world had paused, studios were closing, competitions were canceled, and we had no idea if Milani would ever get the chance to perform it.

Swipe through the different stages of Foxes. It’s more than a solo. It’s a reminder that sometimes the journey to the stage becomes part of the story itself.

It was originally created for her at The Royal Underground, but when the studio closed, everything felt up in the air. Even so, Milani never stopped believing in this piece. Week after week, she continued rehearsing remotely with Ms. Joanna, holding onto the hope that one day she’d dance it onstage.

Ms. Allison @alligladney welcomed us with open arms, and Mr. Q @itsaquintonthing helped continue shaping and refining this beautiful solo. Because of their belief in Milani, “Foxes” finally found its stage.

As Milani wraps up her first week of summer intensive, I can’t help but go down memory lane. 🥹

I’ve been watching these old videos of her when she was just a little girl, dancing around without a care in the world. This was one of her very first solos. It never got the chance to see the stage because of Covid, but somehow it still became part of her story.

Even then, she was so determined. So fearless. So completely in love with dance.

It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to watch your child’s dream grow right in front of your eyes. The early mornings, long rehearsals, sacrifices, disappointments, victories, and every moment in between have all been worth it.

To everyone who has supported Milani, prayed for her, encouraged her, donated, shared her story, or simply believed in her… thank you. You have been part of this journey, and we will never take that for granted.

There is truly no greater privilege than helping your child chase the dream God placed in their heart. The little girl in this video is still dancing… just on bigger stages now. And I have a feeling she’s only getting started.

Keep shining, Milani. We’ll always be your biggest fans. 💛✨ Mom & Dad love you ❤️

Happy Father’s Day to an amazing dad. ❤️

Thank you for always holding it down for us. Through every high and low, you’ve been a constant source of strength, support, and positivity. You show up every day with love, patience, and a willingness to do whatever it takes for the people you love.

Thank you for guiding the kids, cheering them on, making them laugh, and helping them become the incredible young people they are today.

Today my heart is overflowing.

Milani graduated from 8th grade at Debbie Allen Middle School, and I can hardly believe how fast the years have gone by.

Having Sean, Milani and Jahi together today was such a gift. Sean is finishing his second year at UC Santa Cruz and continues to make me proud beyond words. Jahi is finding his path and growing into a remarkable leader with a heart of gold. And Milani is stepping confidently into her next chapter, pursuing her dreams with courage and passion.

There have been challenges along the way, and the journey hasn’t always been easy. But moments like this make every sacrifice, every late night, every worry, and every prayer worth it.

Al says that raising them is one of the noblest things we will ever do. Looking at them today, I couldn’t agree more.

I’ll share more pictures later, but today I want to focus on this one. This moment. A snapshot of three incredible young people who remind me every day what truly matters.

Dear Family & Friends,

As Milani enters her final week at the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive, I’ve been reflecting on all the love, generosity, and encouragement that made this opportunity possible. We are deeply grateful — truly, words can’t fully express how much your support has meant to us.

It’s been quite overwhelming in the most beautiful way to witness the outpouring of support. Whether you donated to the GoFundMe, shared her story, sent encouraging words, or simply held her in your thoughts — every single act has touched our hearts. We’ve felt your love every step of the way.

This week, Milani will perform in four shows. I know she will dance with every ounce of her heart and soul, pouring into each movement all that this experience has meant to her. Please know that you were part of this — part of her growth, her confidence, and the joy she’s experienced through this incredible journey.

Thank you for giving her the chance to grow, shine, and dance at the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive.
