Oh how he makes me proud! It's not the awards, tho they are impressive, its his heart and his actions. Even during graduation ceremony he made sure to be kind to others.

Sorta like the "Old Rugged Cross" the steeple from the Little White Church still stands. This photo from Cheryl Roberts Lasater tells our Liberty Hill story. We have a strong history of over 140 years that stands tall like the steeple. The "old" brick church that was built with love, hope and the "Promises of God" (Bible verses on the floor and the very first song sang in the then new church). I remember Brother Frank saying that first Sunday, the new church was beautiful but not big enough. The numerous new additions that were were a result of ladies in the church (who are mostly now in their heavenly home) deciding to pray for 10 new young families, an amazing story for another day.

I see the damage and the debris but I also see the new sign. I see the Light. I see the Hope and I see the generations to come. Just as I have memories of sliding down the basement stairs and ringing the bells in the little white church, the kiddos I teach on Sunday mornings will have of memories of VBS, youth group meetings and someday wedding days. Yes it hurts and yes it's just a building and I KNOW we will be back better than ever. The church is still a part of us, its the heartbeat of our families, "The Hub" of our different communities, and just like the sign is shining bright, may we all continue to Shine Jesus Light.

Ironically our past VBS theme. God knew, He prepared us, just as He now guides our church leadership team.
