This week at the annual Senior Awards program at Colgan High School in Prince William County, we were proud to present three Jennie Dean Scholarship awards — congratulations to Kingston Mills, Paula Moore, and Valerie Escuta! 🎓✨

Kingston rose from reporter to Editor-in-Chief of his school’s journalism program, leading with maturity and mentoring peers along the way — and bringing that same leadership to the varsity basketball court.

Paula channeled empathy and compassion into action through her Girl Scouts Silver Award project, creating resources for children in foster care and supporting foster families through a local county agency.

Valerie demonstrated remarkable resilience by prioritizing her health, returning with renewed focus, and expanding her school’s AP History Writing Center into an inclusive resource for all students — all while leading as President of Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society.

Each of these outstanding students embodies the spirit of Miss Jennie Dean — showing up, doing their part, and lifting others in the process. We couldn’t be more proud. Congratulations to all three! 🎓✨ by @jenniedeanedu

This week at Hylton High School in Woodbridge, we had the honor of presenting Jordan Palmer with a scholarship award in recognition of his outstanding leadership, character, and dedication to service. From volunteering at youth basketball camp and leading within the Pathfinder Club, to addressing food insecurity through Alive Food Distribution and Community Praise Church, Jordan has shown time and again what it means to show up for others. His spirit reflects the very words of Miss Jennie Dean — “You do your part, I’ll do mine” — and we are incredibly proud to support him on the next chapter of his journey. Congratulations, Jordan! 🎓✨ by @jenniedeanedu

Yesterday at the annual Senior Awards program at Osbourn Park High School, we had the honor of presenting Jada Okoye with a scholarship award in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to STEM education and community service. As the founder of both STEM Explorers and Helping Hands, Jada has reached over 300 underserved students, organized 40+ free STEM workshops, and built partnerships with more than 25 organizations — all while still in high school. We are so proud to support students like Jada who embody the spirit of Miss Jennie Dean, and we look forward to seeing the incredible impact she will continue to make. Congratulations, Jada! 🎓✨ by @jenniedeanedu
