This fundraiser is urgent. Esmeralda has given the city in the public only 20 days to review their documents before the first planning commission meeting. Both referendums and potential CEQA litigation have very short windows of 30 days after the city Council makes its decision. Still hoping for the city Council of Cloverdale to make the right decision, which is not Esmeralda as it presents itself in its current proposal. This is an urgent fundraiser for the residents of Cloverdale CA vs Esmeralda Land Company. Cloverdale residents are asking Esmeralda for a Subsequent Environmental Impact Report and the City Council to put Esmeralda on the ballot for Cloverdale voters to decide. For this we need a referendum ready in advance, so we are ready to collect official signatures within the limited timeframe. Esmeralda insists an addendum is “nearly identical” to an EIR, it’s not….which is one of the reasons we only 20 days to review what they have submitted to the City for approval. If it were an EIR we’d have 45 days. With an addendum it “need not be circulated for public review.” It’s the ultimate David vs Goliath, we are residents fighting for transparency, full environmental review not corner cutting, and for public health. Esmeralda promotes benefits to Cloverdale 18,500,000+ a year 455 jobs, millions in tax revenue, improved fire safety and water resiliency…. They’re doing everything for us and for Cloverdale they make it sound like. BUT page 22 of Esmeralda’s fiscal economic impact analysis says, “ The analysis reflects the assumption that the project is financially feasible and part because of the sponsors proposed EIFD and the TOT rebate, reaches full, build out, and that the land use components, generate gross receipts, consistent with levels generated by newly constructed developments. The project would not be viable without the proposed dedication of a portion of the future property tax, and TOT revenues to be generated by the project.” and they propose the EIFD for 45 years… TOT sharing for 15. I have never asked for an autograph in my whole life. It’s just not my style. But I went with a friend of mine @holyshakes_shawn to see Kevin Morby in Phoenix while at the World Parkinson’s Congress. Thank goodness he had an extra ticket and I got the invite!! I had seen Kevin Morby before but had no idea who is opening up for him, and it was his guitarist @liamkazar and I was completely blown away! In between the sets, Sean and I went over to the merch table and bought T-shirts, and records. Kevin Morby was amazing and after the show our night got even more amazing when we got to meet Liam and chat for a little bit and he signed my record 🥰 maybe someday I’ll take the plastic completely off and play this beautiful record. I told him that his performance blew me away and he signed it, Jennifer you blow me away XO Liam. Which is just so cool. It’s hard to pick my favorite song, but I have to say this one titled Listening, just takes my breath away. This morning’s workout music. It’s not your typical fast paced rev you up stuff, but it’s meaningful and makes me so happy. In May the amazing @jennifer___sullivan and I took an evening break from all things Parkinson’s at the WPC and caught @liamkazar and Kevin Morby playing in concert. We had the opportunity to chat with Liam after the show, he signed our records, and we talked about our journeys as well as a close friend of his fighting PD. You can tell from his beautiful music that he’s an old soul and deeply empathetic (and funny!) and it’s true! If you haven’t heard him, give him a spin. (At the time I didn’t even have a record player! But I do now, thanks to Kelly and the boys who gave me one for my birthday!) by @jennifer___sullivan

I was fine for the next 20 minutes….I could walk and made it to another deli in North Beach and was able to cross the intersections I needed to cross, but it was a rough day…freezing then normal then dyskensia…too much for my brain that still wants to do so much more than my body will allow me to do. Esmeralda should not be approved by the City of Cloverdale without doing a subsequent EIR and an HHRA with dioxide and furan testing with TEQ!! The property Esmeralda wants to develop was a former state managed Superfund site and there is a land use covenant with ground water and soil restrictions. The land use covenant is available on the state water resources boards Geotracker website under the Masonite case file but is not shared along with other documents that Esmeralda does share on their FAQ page on Cloverdale city website?!? Just returned from 10 days in Minnesota and it was beautiful There was an FM station in Northern Minnesota www.kojb.org that played tribal music and it was really wonderful and pretty powerful and cool to listen to. Which is the inspiration for the music in this video. I’ve never come across the station like that here in California. I could be wrong about no tribal stations in Northern California on FM but I think we should have one too. In terms of exposing people to different traditions and different sounds it’s a good thing to do. The following is from Wikipedia…. and about the native people in the area, we were in. One of the memorable moments of the World Parkinson Congress was actually not part of the WPC. I didn’t manage to get a ticket to the evening performance night when parkies delight each other with song dance and comedy. I was bummed until I realized that my two favorite singers of the moment, @liamkazar liamkazar and @kevinmorby were playing that night in Phoenix. My dear friend @jennifer___sullivan (my fellow Parkies know here as the wiggles project) also didn’t have a ticket to performance night so we played hooky together. We sat in the ADA area @crescentballroomphx as we were both pretty symptomatic, which doesn’t necessarily mean anything visible, although we both had our moments. This was my first time ever asking for disability accommodations, and you know what? It was beautiful. I didn’t sweat it, and I didn’t sense that anyone questioned why I was sitting there. I was proud to sit there and declare my disability without having to say anything. Just being there was advocacy. Thank you Jen for showing me the way. We managed to get Liam to come out after the show for autographs and a chat. We told him all about the WPC and he told us about a good friend who is a PD warrior. Advocacy comes in all shapes and sizes. Lesson learned - if you need accommodations, ask for them! Rock on warriors! by @jennifer___sullivan
