Russia, my second time around, was very different from my first.

Fantastic people who are kind and laughing at the language barrier. But this time, there was another side to the experience. Being detained while entering Russia, and then again while leaving, was genuinely scary. I had been warned about the risks of going. I understood them, and I made the decision to go anyway.

Ironically, the most terrifying day of this entire adventure had nothing to do with the mountain.

Summiting Mt. Elbrus with my team was incredible. I loved every second I spent on that mountain and felt incredibly lucky to be standing there, looking out across the Caucasus Mountains.

Thank you to my truly inspiring and fun team, my climbing partner @ashleyclimbs our guide @bhill117 and, as always, Ryan @mountainprofessionals for getting me to another summit.

It is quite incredible how the hypoxico tent actually works! From working @vasuskin all day on Friday in Boulder to Quito on Sunday - summit Cotopaxi 19,247 ft on Wednesday to sleeping at high camp on Chimborazo 17,550 ft with zero altitude symptoms. Tried for the summit but a lightning storm won! The science behind @hypoxico truly works. This is not my first time using @hypoxico but I played with it a bit and dialed it in while working more than full time. Having my partner support me and add lights in the tent made it fun. The only thing missing was @ashleyclimbs but I am training to keep up with her. Looking forward to the next adventure with @mountainprofessionals in July. Oman is such a beautiful, friendly, clean, adventurous country! We were met with smiles, excellent food, laughter and new friends. I highly recommend visiting Oman. Summiting Carstensz Pyramid 🇮🇩 – This adventure was unforgettable from start to finish — from the wild jungle heli into basecamp to standing on the summit with one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met, @lonnie.r.bedwell.
Lonnie lost his vision in an accident but is far from blind. He sees the world more clearly than most — with humor, humility, strength, grace, and jingle bells. It was an absolute honor to share this summit with him as he completed his 7th of the Seven Summits.
To my kind, humble, and supportive teammates — every single one of you is an incredible and unique human. And a special thank you to my amazing climbing partner @ashleyclimbs — for your perceptive eye, gentle touch, and steady encouragement.

Mountaineering is truly the only time I can actually check out and be present in the moment. You don’t have a choice as you need to pay attention to detail and deal with the elements! It is intense but incredibly rewarding. In that moment, the only thing that matters is your team and your focus. Waking up at 12:00 am and starting in the dark. Right when you feel you can’t take it anymore the orange light of the sun emerges to show Cotopaxi erupting in the background.

Such a special place! It was incredible having this experience with my daughter! ❤️🌋
