The only picture I have on my fridge is of the Flag Point Fire Tower in Oregon, where I worked for 3 seasons as a fire watcher from 2006-2008. I have so many memories of that place- of solitude, epic beauty, wilderness, owl, pika, cougar, bear, miles of trees, sunsets, sunrises, long views, art making, songwriting, hiking. I was devastated to learn yesterday it was destroyed by the Grasshopper Fire on July 31st. by @jennrawling

Jenn’s Arnica Plus Salve (Wild Crafted Arnica, Cotton Wood Buds, & St John’s Wort) is back in the gallery! Jenn’s been making this medicine for over 20 years-She finds her way to the river sides, mountain meadows and her mom’s garden- to find the plants singing their magic, season after season. Jenn uses all organic oils to make this sweet salve for your bruised, strained, hurtin’ muscles. Your ouchy knuckles, your overly used knee caps. It’s a small batch this year- Get one! Love it! @jennrawling by @jennrawling

Tomorrow I will be finishing up the Maria’s ‘Book Burro’ mural!!! I feel very proud of this one. ❤️ Thx everyone for cheering me on and for all the positive feedback during its creation. Murals are a huge effort and a long journey with unseen joys as well as a bunch of goofy obstacles to over come and a lot of perserverance. I’m wooped! If you live locally- you can see it in person at its debut run on June 20th at this year’s @mancosburrofest. I think it’s worth checking out in person. I’ll also have a booth at the art market at Burro Fest- stop by and say hi. I’ll have some prints of the mural images as well as other artworks. The Donkey featured is my animal artist for this years Burro Fest. If you want to learn about the ‘Book Burro’ and Maria’s Non Profit branch- connect with @mariasliteraryfoundation and @mariasbookshop. Thank you to the crew at Marias for choosing me as this projects artist! Especially thx to Nina and Michael, Edward the pig and 3 turkeys for the on site support. A shout out to @durangocreativedistrict for the grant funding through Durango’s Arts and Culture Lodging tax grant- which made this mural possible. Another shout out to @handcraftedhouse for helping me with the paints- I used almost entirely exterior house paints for this project. I think they look really nice. 💜
Good luck in the world mural! I love you and I hope you travel safe and inspire many. Xo. by @jennrawling

We’ve got some freaking amazing artists on our team here at Studio &. Not only are they bad asses in house, but they do creative things outside of & that blow our minds on the regular We are SO excited for the recent collaboration between our Owner/Artist Jenn Rawling @jennrawling and Maria’s Bookstore! Here’s a few pictures to share the mural work Jenn has been doing on a 1980’s vintage trailer- @mariasbookshop and @mariasliteraryfoundation ‘s ‘Book Burro’. The ‘Book Burro’ will travel the region - giving away new books. How simple and beautiful is that? To find out more, or contribute a monetary donation to the project- click on their links. The ‘Book Burro’ will have it’s debut at this years @mancosburrofest . The Burro used for this mural is Jenn’s animal muse for this year’s Burro Fest. #visitdurango #artdurango #muraldurango #mariasbookburro #mancosburrofest by @jennrawling

Painting with the wind at my back! Made a ton of sweet art moves this last week. Dialed in ‘Don Key’- my real life model for this Burro- I LOVE his face!. Started on the Ocotillo plant- wow what a plant- many, many leaves! Here’s a vid showing my creation so far. Enjoying my self immensely. Debut release of this super amazing project ‘Maria’s Book Burro’ is at Burro fest June 20th! Mark your calendar for the unveiling at 10am. Until then I’ll be painting with my head down. Thanks for all the cheers- your encouragement and praise hits my heart. Xoxo. @mariasliteraryfoundation @mariasbookshop @mancosburrofest incredible paints by @handcraftedhouse grant made possible by the Durango Arts and Culture lodging tax grant. Here’s a few progress pics of the mural- the under painting of the gal & burro & the beginning of the Ocotillo plant. Some of the details are added to humor or delight myself. Like- she is wearing blue vans, the way she has her hand resting so sweetly on the burro, her anchor tattoo- just because. @mariasliteraryfoundation @mariasbookshop @mancosburrofest #mariasbookburro #mural #vintagetrailer #burroart #durangoart by @jennrawling
