I came home to a favorite surprise on my porch today!!!! My talented and thoughtful friend, Dana, has been painting me pumpkins for years since my diagnosis in 2017! This year’s pumpkin was supposed to have a 9 on it, but instead it had my verse and I couldn’t love it more! 🎀
Isaiah 43:18 says, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” Yes, HE is!!! I am THRIVING. 💕

What an HONOR! 💕 Adalyn Scott played for ME today in the Pink Out tournament in Bentonville! The entire Savage Gold softball team wore my bracelets! Tad & Marisa Scott are such longtime and dear friends— Adalyn, thank you for putting me on your Jersey! Such a blessing to watch all of those young women play today for all those who are thriving , surviving, or have passed away from Breast Cancer. 🩷🎀🥎

YALL—- PRAISE GOD! 🙌🏻. I have officially spoken with my doctor!!! First answer to prayer: My pathology reports came back today! The polyp was pre-cancerous and of course it was completely removed. Second answer to prayer: The mass is also just a pre-cancerous mass if there is NO INVASIVE TUMOR! Praise God! On my knees praising him!!!
The Radiation oncologist office called me this morning and they want to move forward with Radiation because I have already been mapped and marked. I will be scheduling that appointment today and it looks like it will start on October 12. I will do 16 consecutive rounds which would put me ending Radiation on Monday, November 2. The plan would be to have the mass removal done after I am finished with Radiation. It will probably take me some time anyway to get my appointments and consultations and surgery scheduled so it is working out. I have been referred to Kansas City to have a robotic surgery performed to remove the mass. I must have this done within 90 days.
But for now we are REJOICING and THANKING God through it all! 💕
Prayer request— pray for my Radiation to go smoothly! Please pray that I have minimal side effects. And please pray for the appointment to get set in Kansas City without any complications with regards to the procedure or my insurance coverage. Thanks friends!
🥊 I cannot stress enough, how important it is to go to the doctor regularly for check up’s! Listen to your body! ! Get your screenings done! Early detection will save your life no matter what it is! Quit putting it off… Go get a mammogram, go get a colonoscopy, go get whatever the doctor recommends you need! 🥊

Definitely not the news I was expecting today. I’m thankful my polyp lit up on my scan prompting the quick turnaround on the colonoscopy! Without that we would’ve not have found this hopefully friendly mass in my Rectum. Wow—from my boobs to my rectum—no more modesty here! 🫣
Please pray for the pathology results to come back on Friday — so I don’t have to go through the weekend thinking about this… And for pathology to be clear. Either way—they want to remove the mass surgically no matter what it is. They will send me to KC or STL for the surgery. I will be seeing a colorectal physician at Highlands. My home away from home. 🩷
My radiation is currently scheduled for October 12. However, now that we have thrown a curveball into this plan we will wait for the pathology results and prioritize what needs to happen first. They are both going to happen one way or another!
Thank you guys for praying for me and all of the encouragement! I am so thankful for you! I’m thankful for finding this mass. I am rejoicing that once again, God has given me peace beyond understanding, even if it came in the way of being under the influence of Propofol this morning when I got the news. 😂. I felt like I was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, but the tunnel keeps getting longer.
The scripture I read before my colonoscopy was Matthew 6:34, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” God gave me a little preview into what today was going to hold. I truly had a feeling that things may not go my way today. But Psalm 68:19 reminds us, “Praise be to the Lord, to God, our Savior, who daily bears are burdens.” I don’t have to bear this burden. That is the best news I could ever get!

🚨Update time! I’ve been cleared to drive and begin most normal activities! I’m progressing in PT and getting my range of motion back in my right arm.
☢️This Friday I have my radiation mapping appointment and radiation will begin in about 3 weeks. They will be radiating a bigger area than originally planned for based off of the outcome of my surgery. I will be having radiation from my clavicle/collarbone all the way over to my sternum back over to my chest wall and my entire armpit. The main side effects will be skin burning and irritation and fatigue. My doctor said I will need to do as much exercise as possible to help combat the fatigue and it could last up to three months after radiation is over. I have been walking about 2 miles each night. I will not be able to lift over 10 pounds with my right arm for a while so walking might be my primary source of exercise.
🥊. New prayer request: the radiation oncologist noted that there was a spot that lit up on my colon during my PET scan. He went ahead and referred me to have a colonoscopy. That will be taking place on September 30 at 8 AM. I am going to be honestI was feeling very confident strong until I heard those words. However, I am not letting those thoughts creep into my mind, and I am hoping for this to not be anything significant. I’m trusting in God and NOT leaning on my own understanding! I have had so much peace during this journey! TYJ!

From my devotional…
Trust Me, and refuse to worry, for I am your Strength and Song. Since I am your strength, I can empower you to handle each task as it comes. Because I am your song, I can give you joy as you work alongside me.

….and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
2 Corinthians 10:5 🥊
The Lord is my strength and my song…
Exodus 15:2 🥊
I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken. 🥊
Psalm 16:8

I do feel great and glad to be mobile and getting somewhat back to a normal routine. If anyone would like a bracelet, please let me know… These are a gesture of THANKS to my army and a continual reminder of prayer!

Do you know what these sisters share? They each have the Breast Cancer gene mutation that I have— the ATM gene. We just found out that Alexis also carries the gene— this means her risk of Breast Cancer is elevated. However, because we KNOW this information we can begin screening them early starting at the age of 25. Kennedy won this 50/50 toss with the gene mutation. Knowledge is power and I’m thankful for the advances in genetic testing. MANA Breast Center is amazing to work with and we are all now patients at the Care Clinic at Highlands to stay up to date with any new research or additional screenings we may need moving forward. 🩷 by @jennturplee

I got a BIG surprise today! Kennedy, Kenzie & Jack have been working behind the scenes! They designed and ordered these prayer bracelets in my honor! 🩷. I would love to share these bracelets with anyone who would like one! We have youth and adult sizes! 🤗
My biggest ask is continued prayer for my journey. I hope to be cleared for PT this week so we can get my arm above my head and begin radiation in a few weeks. This cancer doesn’t know how BIG my God is and how POWERFUL prayer is— THANK YOU to my army of prayer warriors! Don’t stop! I feel each prayer and my level of peace is truly beyond understanding…it is only GOD. ✝️

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
