This is what we built it for.

Good people. Big energy. Lots of sweat, even more smiles, and a space that already feels like home.

Atlanta, welcome to The Yard. We’re just getting started. by @jennxlynn

we made it, y’all 🥳😮‍💨🫩

sometime back in the spring during one of my many tearful breakdowns, @espadafish encouraged me to journal or photograph or otherwise capture the memories and feelings from the year and said i’d probably be surprised by how much good and growth there was once i was on the other side of it all. i’m glad i listened, because she was right.

so here are some snaps from one of the roughest seasons of my life as a gentle reminder that, if you let yourself, you can usually find some little bits of magic in the madness. happy 2026, friends. love you ❤️ by @jennxlynn

lookin’ for me? i been on the run 😤

the year life as i knew it pretty much fell apart, i found myself running away from a lot of big feelings that had nowhere to go. grief, anger, heartbreak, resentment, despair; you name it, i felt it. i’m hesitant to use the phrase ‘blessing in disguise’ because very little that’s happened this year — to me and to so many of us — feels like a blessing. but 12 months and hundreds of miles later, i’ve got nothing but gratitude for the sport that gave me some much-needed silver linings to run towards. and now, as the year life as i knew it pretty much fell apart draws to a welcomed close, i find myself feeling hopeful and excited for the miles ahead, and thankful for all the friends, new and old, who made sure i was never running alone. ❤️‍🩹❤️ taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @jennxlynn

Hyrox ATL! What an absolutely psychotic race this is 😂 So tough! I wish I could say that I’m proud of my finish time, but the honest truth is that I’m not. I felt solid and extremely on track for a sub-1:35 finish until the wall balls at the very last station. After my judge no-repped me probably 5x in the first 10 or so throws for not going “ass to ankles” (which is not the rule, fwiw!), I knew my time was tanked. Brought the box out early, but the no-reps continued. I can’t tell you how frustrated and gaslit I felt after feeling my 🍑 tap the box, throwing the ball, hitting the target right on the nose, and seeing the counter flash red to indicate yet another no rep. I genuinely felt like I was losing my mind and was on the verge of breaking down in Charlie Brown-style cartoon tears until another judge came over and confirmed that I was indeed tapping the box… with my right glute, at least. A ✨really✨ inopportune time, to put it mildly, to find out I apparently have a quite visible left hip hike! 🥲

That second judge saved my ass (figuratively and literally, tbh), but by then my legs were totally cooked, my spirit totally broken, and my time totally shot. It truly took every ounce of mental fortitude I had to bang out another 30 reps for a grand total of 121 wall balls (of which—I swear on my life—at LEAST 115+ were solid) and trot across the finish line after 1 hour and 38 minutes of pure insanity feeling super bummed and defeated. Not at all how I wanted to feel, and not the photo finish I’d imagined or trained for.

So no, I’m not proud of my time because I genuinely don’t feel like it reflects my fitness or the performance I actually gave. But after a day or two of feeling disappointed/waiting for the pics to drop 😉, I came up with some things that I am proud of (continued in comments!): taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @jennxlynn

you guys, this year was not cute. i’m infinitely grateful for and indebted to each and every one of you who somehow kept me smiling and afloat during what was one of the darkest years of my life. the wheels honestly came pretty close to coming fully off the bus, and i don’t know how i’d have ever made it through without you. cheers to yet another miraculous spin around the sun! love you ❤️ by @jennxlynn

I lost my job five months ago today. If you know me at all, you know how much my career in the humanitarian/development sector meant to me. It has truly been the greatest privilege of my life so far to work in service of making things a little bit easier for children, families, and communities going through periods of immense hardship. My career offered me a deep sense of purpose and humility, and having it rather suddenly (and unconstitutionally) ripped out from under me has broken my heart in a million different ways and left me feeling incredibly unmoored.

Signing up to train with Atlanta Track Club in April was my attempt at finding a sense of purpose again by giving myself a goal to work towards: running my first Peachtree Road Race! It’s the world’s largest 10K and a pretty popular way to spend the Fourth of July down here. Well, this past Friday, I ran it. And I ran it pretty fast! Finished in 52:41. During a season of life in which I feel like I’m not accomplishing or contributing much of anything, I can at least feel proud of that.

The entire training block and the race itself was everything I needed it to be. It gave me some much-needed structure, a cathartic outlet for all of my anger and heartbreak, and a bunch of lovely, supportive, and inspiring new friends I admire a lot. Some of them are pictured in the second photo. 🥰

I’m excited to keep running and see what I can achieve, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s Peachtree. I hope by next Fourth of July I’ll be able to feel proud of the direction this country is headed and run the race with a different, perhaps more patriotic flag in my pocket. But that’ll only be possible if we keep fighting for what matters together. If you feel similarly, please call your reps, find ways to get involved, foster your community, and most of all, take care of each other. Love you guys. ❤️‍🩹❤️ taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @jennxlynn
