In our Yorkville Townhouse, the same jewel tones shift surface and scale from room to room, earning their place differently in each one.

The crimson that lacquers the bar millwork turns up again as a silk cushion in the dining room. The lapis lazuli laid underfoot in the foyer finds its way into the cocktail parlour’s fireplace surround. Brass moves from the dining room table pedestal base to the fireplace fascia to the gilt pier mirror on the stair hall landing. The colors are constant. The rooms are not. Same palette, different surfaces, entirely different effect, and yet the house never loses the thread.

It deserved more detail and more color. It got both.

A jewel-box moment in every sense✨

In the lower guest bath of our Yorkville Townhouse, high-gloss sapphire tile, richly veined stone, custom wall lights, and an Edwardian antique mirror come together to create a small space with a very big point of view

Designed as part of a late-19th-century Toronto townhouse reimagined with colour, detail, and a sense of glamour, this room carries the spirit of the home in miniature: layered, intimate, a little dramatic, and entirely personal. As featured in Homes & Gardens, the project was shaped around a “jewel box approach,” with each room given its own distinctive mood while still feeling connected to the whole.
