Thank you for coming to No Pho No Faan - sold out shows at the Sydney Fringe. Below are 2 unsolicited feedback. As the creator/director/performer I'm very humbled and chuffed from the responses. I will create more!

Two great audience reviews I recorded last night at the Erko pub

They absolutely loved, they just saw the show from the Fringe Guide

"It was absolutely fantastic it had me in tears thinking about the differences over the years. I am a nurse myself and could imagine what it was like in those days with racism. We are taught so much more about cultural safety these days, I can imagine what those women had to go through at the time and I have great respect for them. But also I was thinking about migration in the current time and the way that migrants are vilified and I was just so sad to think that not a lot has changed. It's a fantastic show and if it's ever on again I encourage you all to see it.

Sarah, nurse Sydney

I loved the humour, it was so funny and I could appreciate the complexities of the Australian language. I work at a university and I have a lot of international students and it has made me realise so much, even though I was aware of the difficulties with language, it made me see it more from their point of view. I have a lot more empathy now as a result of seeing this play. Tonight was hilarious, so clever, so entertaining but also made you really think about the current situation. We've got to rage against the monoculture, we have to embrace diversity and these women showed us tonight how fantastic it is and how we are all enriched by it.

Sandra, Sydney

Thank you to many others who said the show made them cry and made them laugh. by @jennyforest63

Our next reveal!

Assam Laksa is an intergenerational migration play that spans China, Malaysia, and Melbourne. It follows four generations of women as they navigate cultural and family expectations and find ways to survive and thrive, all while a bowl of Assam Laksa is being made. The play explores the cost of migration on cultural identity and on ourselves.

CLOSING NIGHT 🎄🕯️

Tonight we close A Chinese Christmas at KXT on Broadway.

Thank you to everyone who’s sat with us in the Chinese underworld, laughed at the family chaos, and maybe shed a quiet tear for your own grandparents, parents, and the ones who raised you. Your presence, your messages, your word of mouth – it’s meant everything.

This is the final performance of our debut season. If you’ve been thinking about coming, this is your last chance to join us in the room.
