Wooden farm tables with a wheat toned liner set the stage for undulating flowers in a variety of vessels with fruit tucked in between. Gold letterpressed menus on chocolate brown stock with a velvet ribbon embroidered with each guest’s name.

@cosmopolitan just called the courthouse wedding the coolest trend in weddings. My favorite line: “not everything that matters has to be big or public.”

I’ve been photographing them for over ten years, and I love them for reasons that have nothing to do with a trend.

I love the waiting room, every kind of love story sharing the same row of chairs. I love that the ceremony lasts about a minute and somehow holds everything. I love that it feels like the DMV, and that I still get to really be with two people on the morning their life changes. And I love walking out with them afterward, into a city where strangers congratulate the newlyweds left and right. It’s simply magical.

For this one, I put the camera down long enough to sign as their witness. An honor I will never get used to.

There’s a kind of ease that happens when two people are genuinely themselves in front of the camera, and this couple had it from the first frame. Their energy made this one of my favorite mornings in the West Village.

I love this part of my job more than I can say. The time spent really connecting with a couple, not just photographing them. Getting to slow down, to laugh with them on a street corner, to make something they’ll treasure, it means the world to me.

In their words: “we are so grateful for you and your level of attention to detail... so happy to have them forever.”

Life is sweet like cinnamon.

Paradise, above Park Ave, with the rain clearing just in time for portraits. She was the chicest bride I’ve seen in a while... a style so distinctly her own.

Waveny House in August, and the sky put on its own show for them: high sun giving way to a breeze, then pink and blue and purple settling in around dusk. My favorite kind of summer night.

This couple were surrounded by so much love and laughter all day that it was hard not to feel it too. A wedding Waveny felt like something out of a storybook, every turn another backdrop, another bit of light worth chasing. I leaned into film more than usual and brought the drone up for a few birds eye views of the property. Some places just ask for it, and this one was worth it. Even the cake held its own, soft buttercream dressed simply in raspberries.

Days like this are the reminder. Of why I do this, who I do it for, and why it will still matter long after today’s post has scrolled by.

A breezy afternoon spent at Old Westbury Gardens. She wore Zimmermann catching every bit of light. The couple fit this editorial elopement in during a cross country move, boxes and all, and for a few hours none of that existed. Just the two of them, this gorgeous space, and more backdrops than we could use in one afternoon.

All on film... what a time!

Side note... this is the estate from Cruel Intentions, where Sebastian first meets Annette, aka Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon. I’ve wanted to shoot here since I was a teenager—another dream come true.

Wedding season has arrived, and it came in quietly stunning.

This one at @bluehillfarm set the tone for the season. Florals by @e_p_h_e_m_e_r_a that were nothing short of breathtaking. And a day held together beautifully by the team at @angweddingsny.

Fourteen years of wedding seasons and the thing that never gets old is this: being let in. Into the morning nerves, the stolen glances, the toasts that make a room cry. Couples who trust enough to just be and allow me to find the in-between moments.

Some things only get clearer with time, and this season is already reminding me why.

They planned their dream wedding at The Biltmore. Then Hurricane Helene hit and everything changed. Instead of giving up they moved their day to The Dunlin, embraced the storm, and found a river-side celebration that matched their love story. Weathered the storm and still bloomed.

At @troutbeck.ny in high summer, color everywhere you looked, and just enough rain during the ceremony to make it lucky.

Still one of my favorite weekends to date. @ashleydouglassevents and @porcelainvinefloral built a world so lush and alive it felt like the gardens themselves were part of the celebration, every bloom, every hue, every detail considered.

And then the day gave way to night, and the party truly began. Dancing that didn’t stop. Smiles that didn’t either. An after-party that outlasted the stars. This is the part of a wedding no one plans for and everyone remembers, pure, unfiltered joy, glowing long after the sun went down.

Still one of my favorites... summers later.
