Quite a bit of energy building as I work on several oils at a time. Loving my studio and the space. @hansonstreetstudios by @jennyhunterarts

Up close and totally unfiltered 🎨💙

I zoomed right in on a couple of my paintings today, because this is where the joy lives. Nose pressed to the canvas.

In these Glasgow paintings, there’s no hard outlines, just shapes of colour bumping alongside each other.

Blame the bright wintry days. They hand you a sky so blue it practically dares you to paint it, and windows and turrets that turn into colourful patterns by @jennyhunterarts

Here’s a wee introduction to what I do and love as an artist. by @jennyhunterarts

Working on this watercolour of Glasgow City Centre looking down Hope Street. Loving the bold contrast of the red sandstone against the cobalt blue sky. Thanks @articulateculturaltrust for the view! #glasgow #architecture #tenements by @jennyhunterarts

🎨 Bowmore, Isle of Islay
There’s something about the light on Islay, the island famous for its peaty whisky 🥃 and white beaches.

This painting started as a rough sketch of the Bowmore distillery - blocks of colour I slowly built up layer by layer until the light finally felt right.

Swipe through to see the stages ➡️ from the first marks to the finished piece.

Islay has a way of getting under your skin — hopefully this captures a little bit of why.

Close-ups from my painting of the champagne bar in Glasgow 🥂 The cornicing, window reflections and bar area all broken down into a series of splodges! Painted, scraped off, and repainted multiple times to get it right — that’s the beauty of working in oils. 🎨 by @jennyhunterarts

The champagne bar at Glasgow central. This recently completed commission has found its new home. But fine art prints are now available on my website - link in bio. Hopefully these interior shots give a flavour of what it could look like…. by @jennyhunterarts

The Champagne Bar at Glasgow Central is one of those iconic places where journeys begin, reunions happen, and special moments are celebrated.

I was commissioned to paint this much-loved Glasgow landmark, and I’m delighted that the new owner is pleased with the painting.

If you’ve ever met someone under the famous clock or raised a glass in the Champagne Bar before catching a train, I hope this painting brings back a few happy memories. by @jennyhunterarts

I’m currently working on a new oil painting of Castle Stalker in Appin, on Scotland’s west coast. What a beautiful part of the world.

It’s not finished yet, but I’m pleased with how the light is beginning to break through the darker tones in the distance.

Capturing the light is an important part of this painting because it’s one of my strongest memories of being there. There’s still plenty of work to do, but I wanted to share a preview before it’s complete.

I’d love to know what you think so far.
