TWO YEARS OLD!!! Our baby isn’t such a baby anymore and has grown so much over the last year. But he is still the same silly, outgoing, sweetest kid you will meet! Truly the best parts of both of us, @mercado2121 🫶. Happy Birthday, AJ. 🥰 by @jennykrum

I’ve started and stopped this post more times than I care to admit, but the tyme has come to step away from coaching allstar cheer. I’ve been in the game since 2004 and took a short break in college to actually cheer and have been blessed to be part of GymTyme Illinois since 2017.

I have learned so much from some of the best coaches in the business, both past and present members of our GT family. Thank you to Wes Haley and Donald Jr Schnering for dealing with my crazy schedule and welcoming me 10 years ago with open arms. I will forever be grateful for your love and friendship.

The relationships I have made with staff that have become friends, friends that have become family, parents, and most importantly the kids will stick with me forever. You guys have seen me me at my highest highs and lowest lows. You have seen me become a wife and a mom! Gymtyme Illinois will always be a part of my life and I will still be around to visit of course but I am looking forward to spending more time with AJ and Alex.

I couldn’t end this post without thanking Carol Twohill-Rumbaugh for introducing me to coaching allstar cheer at the age of 16. You took a chance on me and we had some amazing times. Love you so much!!

GTIL will always be home for me and so many others. It truly is a special place. And after 3 2nd place finishes and multiple top 5 finishes, it feels good to finally go out on top as a 2026 Summit Champ!

LPVC Chapter 2026 has officially ended as we celebrated this amazing team at our banquet this weekend.

Quick season recap:
1st Place at DGN
1st Place at LWW
1st Place at All of the Lights
2nd Place at BG
Highest score at Porter Frost
2nd Place at SWSC Conference
1st Place at Huntley
1st Place at IHSA Sectionals, earning our 14th Sectional Title (most in the state in cheer)
2nd Place IHSA State Finals earning our 14th State Trophy (most in school history and 2nd most in IHSA cheer history)

To place top 2 at every single competition shows the remarkable consistency, strength of the kids, and difficulty of our routine. It is not easy to do that and we came in with a goal this year to hit on day two of State when it mattered and they did just that! The feeling of seeing them after the routine will be something I remember forever.

Hearing your name called for 2nd place can be a harsh reality in the moment and our kids showed class, dignity and pride for their school in a hard moment for them and I will be forever proud of all 27 of them. I know that the lessons they learned and the strength that they showed will carry them through life. No matter what the tic tok warriors say behind anonymous usernames, 2nd place stings and it is okay to be disappointed when you fall a little short of a goal. But 2nd place is also an amazing accomplishment in the hardest division and I know they are proud of that. I’ve had so many compliments on our team and routine! Any other day the results probably could have went a different way.

Thank you to the team for always trusting us coaches and trusting the process. Thank you seniors for your unwavering commitment to our iconic program. You have left your legacy!! 🫶 by @jennykrum

USA Youth Coed Advanced - 2025 World Champions! It certainly didn’t come easy. These athletes showed how tough they are and came back with a great day 2 routine to take home the Gold! Grateful for the opportunity to work with so many athletes and coaches. 4x ICU World Champ Jen sounds pretty good to me! 🇺🇸 🥇🥇🥇🥇 by @jennykrum
